He was at 0 for 1 with two walks in the 8-5 win when the team removed him after the game resumed following a rain delay in the 8th inning. The slugger apparently has been dealing with some discomfort for the past two whole weeks. Since it never interfered with his day-to-day baseball activities, Soto decided to do nothing about it. However, when the team returned to the dugout following a downpour on Thursday, Soto once again felt something in his forearm as Doctor Christopher Ahmad evaluated him during the rain break and subsequently pulled him out as a precautionary measure.
Now, the Yankees are unaware of the actual extent of the injury. Manager Aaron Boone confirmed that Juan Soto will undergo imaging on Friday, and they are hoping it’s a precautionary thing. Soto, meanwhile, stated that he does not feel any discomfort while hitting or throwing. “Just woke up one day, felt the tightness. We’ve been trying to get away with it, and it hasn’t (gone away),” Soto said. When asked about his exit, Soto downplayed any massive concern as he deemed it a precautionary move. As Soto made his way out, Captain Aaron Judge replaced him on the left field, with Alex Verdugo coming off the bench to take the right field. Notably, Judge played left field for the first time in majors, and the Yanks averted a disaster by securing an impressive series sweep over the Minnesota Twins.
