The RB19 was one of the fastest Formula One cars in 2023. This was clear from Red Bull’s performance, which dominated the racing circuit. While critics believe the Austrian team couldn’t go much farther in building a faster car, the Red Bull team went one step beyond and built the successor RB20. To everyone’s surprise, the 2024 F1 project was faster than its predecessor. Furthermore, Honda, RBR’s power unit partner, complimented the engineers on their innovative approach.

While the 2024 season began similarly, things quickly changed for the worse. Controversies erupted inside the squad, and allegations of a split arose. Furthermore, factionalism intensified, ending in a power struggle. As a result, the once-unstoppable RBR squad appears vulnerable in the automotive development struggle. Moreover, a terrible day in Monaco has further aggravated its pain. While the team awaits a comeback, starlet Max Verstappen feels the Canada GP would be no different.

After a horrific outing in Monaco, the Red Bull squad got a much-needed break. Meanwhile, the technical team contemplated RB20’s woes. During the Monaco weekend, the team had a terrible run from the beginning. Max Verstappen was fuming due to the lack of balance as the car kept bouncing on the bumps. Consequently, an otherwise powerful Red Bull machine looked vulnerable in Monte Carlo’s street circuit. Moreover, it all comes down to the fundamental design of RB20. The car is closer to the ground, which improves its aerodynamic features. Further, the access downforce makes it a fraction quicker. However, the Monaco circuit proved to be their worst nightmare, with the kerbs and bumps making the car appear unstable.

As a result, Max Verstappen had the worst finish of the season at P6. Afterward, Christian Horner and CO. were in action mode to tackle the issues. However, Verstappen voiced his concern over the upcoming Canada GP during a recent media interaction. The three-time world champion feels RB20’s fundamental weaknesses could get exposed again in Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He said the upcoming weekend remains uncertain due to a new surface. Moreover, he stated that the Canadian Grand Prix might not be the team’s strongest performance. Withal, the Dutchman is confident that the team would do better than Monaco.

Red Bull’s Imminent Announcement Captures Everyone’s Attention

On Sunday, the Austrian squad launched an Instagram channel for supporters named ‘Announcement.’ Furthermore, the channel’s ‘stay tuned’ statement has left everyone waiting for something huge. Speculation about the impending announcement is rising on social media.

While the team has not hinted at the announcement, fans are attempting to solve the riddle. Some anticipate the team will announce a new sponsor, similar to Ferrari. However, the likelihood is minimal because Oracle is currently the title sponsor. Afterward, the team confirmed Sergio Perez’s contract for the next two years. Hence, this could have been the announcement. However, fans believe there is more to it as they await an update.
