The RB19 was one of the quickest F1 automobiles in 2023. This was evident in Red Bull’s performance, which controlled the arena. While analysts feel the Austrian outfit couldn’t go much farther in developing a quicker vehicle, the Red Bull crew pushed one step beyond and created the successor RB20. To everyone’s amazement, the 2024 F1 project was actually faster than its predecessor. Moreover, Honda, RBR’s power unit partner, praised the engineers for their unique approach.

While the 2024 season began similarly, things took a horrific turn after a while. Controversies engulfed the team, and reports of a split surfaced. Furthermore, factionalism grew steadily, culminating in a power struggle. As a result, the once-unstoppable RBR team now seems vulnerable in the automobile development battle. With Ferrari and McLaren going all-in, the possibility of losing the world championship looms large. However, the recent ‘mystery’ social media post by RBR has ignited speculations.

The Red Bull team looks under immense pressure after the Monaco Slump. While the team has lost two out of the last three races, the recent defeat was more concerning. Moreover, Max Verstappen finished at P6, while Sergio Perez was ruled out after a Lap 1 crash. However, on Sunday, the Austrian team opened an Instagram channel for fans called ‘Announcement.’ Further, the channel’s ‘stay tuned’ message has made everyone wait for something big. The speculations about the imminent announcement are trending throughout the social media. While the team has not hinted at the news, fans are trying to solve the puzzle. Some believe the team might announce a new sponsor similar to Ferrari. However, the probability is low as Oracle is already the title sponsor. Alternatively, it might simply be a tactic to engage fans. Typically, teams employ a “stay tuned” message to capture the attention of their supporters.

While the team is improving its social media presence, Christian Horner has asked the technical crew to roll up their sleeves. Red Bull’s principal has directed the engineers to look into the team’s core flaws. Further, Horner said the team must reflect a lot following their Monaco slump. During the post-race duties, Horner emphasized the importance of Saturday qualifying on tracks such as Monte Carlo. As a result, the team must identify and address the problems. He also claimed that the race stayed static, with each participant ending exactly where they started. In the end, Horner wants the squad to learn and progress.

Sergio Perez was in the crosshairs after a terrible Monaco outing. The Mexican driver struggled right from the beginning of the weekend, unable to break into the top ten during qualifying. Later on Sunday, the situation escalated when he crashed his RB20, causing extensive damage.

Perez might retain his 2025 Red Bull seat despite a streak of shoddy performances. Earlier, the F1 aficionados believed Carlos Sainz or Daniel Ricciardo would partner with Max Verstappen. Albeit, Helmut Marko on Formel1.de said Perez might have missed out on the contract due to the collision. However, the team is willing to offer him a one-year agreement.
