Helmut Marko’s position was also under threat during the race weekend in Jeddah. Subsequently, the RBR team has lost two out of the last three races, heightening their tension. Consequently, Mercedes targeted Red Bull star Max Verstappen as internal turmoil reached a fever pitch. Toto Wolff has stated openly that he wanted Verstappen to drive for Mercedes. Later, Verstappen clarified that performance is the only currency to hire him, and his future is with Red Bull. 

After plenty of verbal exchanges, Wolff has ended the rising rumors. During an interview with Formula Passion, the Mercedes boss acknowledged the team’s lack of competitiveness. He said the reigning world champion would not sit in a problem-ridden W15. Thus, it is almost impossible to attract Verstappen with a car that lacks competitiveness. Further, the Austrian executive gave the example of McLaren showing optimism for the future. Recently. McLaren has throttled its way to victory after improving the F1 car. Ultimately, he explained the minor Canada upgrades as both the vehicles will have new front wings.
