The Sacramento Kings shocked them in the play-in tournament. Since then, the Dubs organization has been planning to make big roster moves. They want to build a team to give themselves and Steph Curry another chance to win the NBA Championship. There have been rumors since the big teams like the Warriors, the Phoenix Suns, and the Los Angeles Lakers could not make the second round that Kevin Durant, Steph, and LeBron James can team up in the league. Perhaps the trio won’t be part of the same NBA team. However, there can be a deal between LeBron and the Warriors. Or the Dubs can sign KD to get him back.

Moreover, there have been speculations regarding all is not well on the Miami Heat front. Apparently, Pat Riley, the Heat president, vehemently criticized Jimmy Butler for trash-talking off the bench during the series loss against the Boston Celtics. Hence, there is a good chance that Butler might be looking elsewhere for a new deal. If that is the case, the Warriors might be the front-runner to land Butler. Just to change it up a bit, the Dubs might let Klay Thompson sign elsewhere and sign Butler instead. After all, the Dubs are in desperate need of another superstar alongside Stephen Curry to raise their title hopes.
Why The Heat Might Leave Their Star Player?
Jimmy Butler has been the star to watch out for in the Miami Heat colors for the last five seasons. After the era of Dwayne Wade and LeBron James, if there was any star who raised hope for the Heat fans to win a title, it was none other than Butler. He did his best as he was able to lead the team to a couple of NBA Finals.
However, he could not win against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 and the Denver Nuggets in 2023. Lately, NBA sources say that Butler is looking for a maximum contract extension. However, the Miami Heat won’t likely give him what he wants. Hence, several teams, including the Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers, are willing to give Jimmy a maximum contract if they can get him via trade.
