New York Yankees’ Cap Aaron Judge seems to be slowly getting back to his groove in 2024. Last year did not end well for him, and neither did it for the Yankees. The 2022 AL MVP sustained a severe injury with a torn ligament in the middle of the 2023 season. He had a freak accident at the Los Angeles Dodgers fence that hurt his toe really bad. As a result, the Yankees captain could not play for two months and missed as many as 36 games. It was a big blow for the Bronx Bombers as they eventually lost their momentum without their captain and only superstar slugger in last year’s rotation.

They have failed to make it to the postseason for the first time since 2016. Since then, the Yankees have made a lot of changes. The biggest of them was the addition of Juan Soto. Clearly, the combination of Soto and Judge will be lethal for the NY side. But things need to favor Aaron Judge a bit more. For instance, the Yankees Nation will pray to God that their captain cum savior must not suffer another injury issue. On top of that, the fans are really angry at the umpires who have been very unfair to the 6’7 Yankees captain. 

   

Aaron Judge Gets A Lot Of Strike Calls Below The Strike Zone

Recently, Yanks Go Yard compared the unfair situations that two of New York’s superstar athletes face on a constant basis. At first, Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks point guard, gets unfair treatment from the referees at the NBA. On the other hand, Aaron Judge gets wrong strike zone calls quite often below the strike zone. The Yankees fans of FanSided mentioned that in the case of Brunson, the referee needs to check their judgment. However, in the case of Aaron Judge, they don’t need judgment but simple logic. Moreover, the beat writers of Yanks Go Yard feel the importance of introducing robotic umpires. It is because they claim that the normal umpires tend to forget that Aaron Judge is 6’7.

All they need to do is figure out if it is below the zone. Then, it is a ball. Moreover, the umps must check if he can hit the pitch physically. If he can’t, then is it a ball? That’s why Yanks Go Yard requests robotic intervention. But they don’t want the Boston Dynamics, “The biased Devil Dogs.” Moreover, the stats show the Yankees captain faced 121 more called strikes below the strike zone since 2017 than any other player in MLB. And even then, the AL 2022 MVP is the face of MLB. Yanks Go Yard wonders if something like that would happen to any random guy. 

Against All Odds, The Yankees Captain Is Getting Back His Rhythm

The umpires have been unfair, and injuries have not made it easy for Aaron Judge. Even in spring training, the AL 2022 MVP could not play all the games because of an abdominal injury. It scared the fans for a while. They were like, “It’s Deja Vu!” But then Judge returned and took time to hit his first home run of 2024.

Eventually, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Yankees captain his first homer of the season. Later, against the Toronto Blue Jays, the AL home run record holder hit his 2nd homer of 2024. Moreover, the Yankees have not lost a series yet in 2024. For several seasons in the last few years, the NY side did not enjoy a start like this.
