The 34-year-old DH has had tough luck so far with injuries. On September 20, Stanton told the media that he can’t produce like this low batting average. Hence, he needs to work on that too. The batting average of Giancarlo Stanton was even lower than the Mendoza line. This offseason, Stanton plans to improve while trimming his 245-pound and 6’6 frame. That’s how he feels he would regain “Athleticism.”
Moreover, manager Aaron Boone told the media that next season, Giancarlo Stanton will look much leaner. On top of that, Boone added that Stanton has always been in great shape. However, at this age, it will serve him well if he gets lighter. And the manager said even Stanton knows that well as he wants to do that too. If Giancarlo Stanton is healthy, he will make his presence felt with his bat. Moreover, the manager shows such a vote of confidence in Stanton that he still has a great year in him.
The IL Was Major Setback For The Yankees In The 2023
In 2023, the NY side suffered a lot because of their long Injured List. If it was not for severe injuries to key players, then the team could have made the playoffs. But in the middle of the 2023 season, the Yankees captain hurt his toe badly. He was out for a couple of months. But when he returned to the lineup, it was already too late. The NY Yankees were on the brink of elimination. And eventually, the did fail to make the postseason for the first time since 2016.
Apparently, the offense was so bad that the Bronx could not go on like that. Later, injuries to Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton were not good news for the NY Yankees. Moreover, the young Yanks, like Jasson Dominguez, suffered severe injury. He won’t be able to return before the middle of the 2024 season. Moreover, Dominguez had to undergo Tommy John Surgery. Hence, the Injured List in 2023 for the Bronx Bombers was a major setback.
