The passionate fan base of the New York Yankees is highly critical when it comes to baseball. They ensure to let the players feel the heat after an unsatisfactory outing. As much as the Yankee fanbase has battled the narrative of being the ruthless fanbase in the league, their love of the franchise is unfathomable.
At the end of the day, they also want the same thing, which is to see their beloved team thrive. Thus, a loss like the one unfolded in 2023 left the fanbase extremely disappointed. They revolted against the Yankees’ leadership and demanded an immediate change. While their wish won’t be fulfilled, Yankee presenter Michael Kay suggested a corresponding move that should bring solace to the discouraged fans.
Michael Kay Predicts Massive Addition In Yankees Leadership This Off-Season!
The New York Yankee fanbase has been gunning for Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone’s managerial job. They want Hal Steinbrenner to hold them accountable for the lost season. However, the move isn’t going to happen anytime soon, as the duo in the hot seat recently attended a key meeting that included major franchise operatives’ attendance. Their presence in the huddle suggests that the managerial duo will play a huge role in the decision-making this off-season. However, Yankees Ball by Ball presenter Michael Kay recently suggested a big transition that should subside the fans’ agitation. He believes that Steinbrenner will have to do something to impress the fans. A move that sends out a strong message.
“I really believe that they’re going to bring in a big name,” said Michael Kay. The Yankee presenter believes that while the Bronx Bombers won’t necessarily axe someone from the front office, they will likely add a big name to the leadership group. While it may cost Hal Steinbrenner a fortune, it’s the price he must pay to keep the passionate fans in his fold. Not only that, Kay also suggested ex-Yankee manager Buck Showalter’s name for the franchise’s advisory team. Buck, recently fired by the Mets, managed the Yankees from 1992-1995. He was a fan favorite in the Bronx, and his addition would undoubtedly please the fans. Having said that, it’s easier said than done. Buck’s recent stint with the Mets ended on a horrific note. Thus, Steinbrenner needs to remain extra cautious with his approach.
Hal Steinbrenner To Keep Aaron Boone, Though Unlikely To Make An Official Announcement
As per multiple media reports, Aaron Boone is likely to keep his managerial job for the 2024 season. Hal Steinbrenner considers him a part of the solution and not vice versa. However, Andy Martino of SNY claimed that the franchise’s ownership is unlikely to make an official announcement regarding Boone’s retention.
Apparently, since Aaron Boone is contracted till the end of 2024, a dedicated announcement does not make any sense. It’s natural for the fans to assume that if the leadership has not decided to axe him, he will stay to see the end of his contract. Having said that, Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman still have an annual press conference to deliver. Perhaps we could have an official word on Aaron Boone then.
