According to Joyce, the Yankees manager mentioned that Frankie Montas would pitch an inning for SWB on Sunday as he begins his Triple-A stint. Due to a shoulder injury, Montas was out of the game for a long time, and people thought he wouldn’t play any more games this season. Hence, the news certainly came as a surprise. Even if he doesn’t play for the NY side this season, it will indeed boost his confidence for the next season.

Moreover, Frankie Montas is heading toward free agency this winter.
