Recently, ‘Shooting Stars,’ a biopic revolving around his high school days and four childhood friends, had its release on Peacock. And as per Deadline, Peacock, a television channel, houses nine original films. The LeBron James biopic ‘Shooting Stars’ is the most viewed movie on the television platform. Chris Robinson directs the movie. Moreover, the inspiration for the film is LeBron James and Buzz Bissinger’s book of the same name. The film stars Marquis Cook, Wood Harris, Caleb McLaughlin, Khalil Everage, Sterling Henderson, Diane Howard, Algee Smith, and so on. The Spring Hill Company of Maverick Carter, along with Terence Winter and Rachel Winter, produced the movie. The Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin plays Dru, one of the childhood friends of LeBron James.
McLaughlin told MovieWeb that he had always loved basketball, but he did not realize that he could relate to the character of Dru so well. He mentioned, “We are both competitive and the way Dru likes to prove people wrong, I feel him.” On top of that, Marquis Cook, aka Mookie, feels no pressure with the way he plays the character in the film. However, in the end, the film remains the number one original film on Peacock every weekend. LeBron James and Maverick Carter have been looking for a box office hit with their production company, SpringHill. Their films House Party and Space Jam: A New Legacy were huge box office disasters.
