Clearly, the month of May remained a roller coaster ride for the New York Yankees. After facing a hard slump in the rust week, the team bounced back post the return of their captain, Aaron Judge. From there on, the team fed on the winning momentum to dich the last spot at the American League East Division table. However, it was not a smooth ride altogether, as some mind games beyond the field of baseball put the team’s integrity in question.

For starters, team captain and the face of the Yankees franchise, Aaron Judge, was accused of cheating by stealing signs. The Toronto Blue Jays sort to dirty tactics to put the team under pressure. However, without proof, the matter did not perpetuate. Next, the team’s starting pitcher, Domingo German, faced ejection after failing the sticky substance check. Not only that, the pitcher had to serve a 10-day suspension which is soon coming to an end. But it seems like the fans aren’t too pleased.

Starting pitcher Domingo German left the New York Yankees red-faced in front of the whole MLB world. During a start against the Toronto Blue Jays, the pitcher was checked for a sticky substance. The umpires felt German’s hands were sticky beyond the allowed limit and hence asked him to wash his hands. The Yankees pitcher followed the orders and returned back with clean hands. However, the umpire crew felt the results were unsatisfactory and ejected the pitcher on an immediate basis for violating the code of conduct. German later claimed innocence and said the substance was just rosin which is allowed within the rules of MLB.

However, the match officials reckoned that it did not feel anything like rosin. On top of that, after a necessary investigation, MLB held Domingo German accountable and slapped him with a 10-day suspension. Now, the suspension is to end this weekend, and the Yankees manager confirmed that German will return to the mound on Monday against the Seattle Mariners. However, the fans aren’t too happy. They believe the pitcher tainted the team’s image and should not be allowed to don the pinstripes ever again. Some fans are angry over the fact that it’s German’s second offense of the season. The pitcher went through a substance check during the initial weeks of the season as well. However, after cleansing his hand, the umpires allowed him to resume. But luck didn’t favor him this time around.

Yankees Fans Boos Aaron Boone For Another Failed Bullpen Decision

The New York Yankees suffered a shocking loss against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. Leading by four runs till the sixth inning, the duo of Nestor Cortes and Jimmy Cordero blew up the lead in the seventh. They collectively gave away eight runs in just one inning. The fans in the Yankee stadium blamed skipper Aaron Boone for the loss.

Fans believed letting Nestor continue for too long was a big mistake. Hence, after giving four runs, when Aaron Boone walked up to pull him out, the fans booed the manager relentlessly. Boone then replaced Cortes with reliever Jimmy Cordero who further added to the misery by giving another set of four runs. The bullpen error cost the Yankees a five-game winning streak which further angered the loyal Yankee fandom.
