Bryan Reynolds Yankees

Pittsburgh Pirates are reportedly asking for a high price to trade Bryan Reynolds to the New York Yankees in the ongoing off-season.

Bryan Reynolds has become a hot sell in the ongoing off-season. Major clubs are pouncing on the outfielder to have him in their bullpen. Speaking of Bryan, he decided to opt out of the two-year deal and part ways with his existing team Pittsburgh Pirates. The 2021 All-Star outfielder refuses to continue with the Pirates. Hence, he asked for a trade.

Moreover, the New York Yankees were the front runners to acquire the outfielder to end their left-field vowes. However, the exchange deal offered by the Pittsburgh Pirates has sent the Yankee front office into a frenzy, and the Bombers find themselves in a fix. Also, along with the Yankees, the Texas Rangers is yet another team rooting for Bryan Reynolds.

The New York Yankees have set no foot wrong this off-season apart from the departure of Andrew Benintendi. Andrew has left a huge hole in the left field for the Bombers. Hence, they are seeking a replacement in the trade window. Furthermore, when the news of Bryan’s availability broke out, the Bombers saw an opportunity and decided to grab it with full hands. Subsequently, they got into talk with the Pirates. However, the latter’s ask shocked the Yankees.

According to an MLB insider, Jon Heyman, the Pirates are asking the Yankees to trade two of their three main players, Anthony Volpe, Oswald Peraza, and Jasson Dominguez, in exchange for Bryan Reynolds. This has sent shockwaves in the Yankee front office, who believe this is a ridiculous ask from the Pirates. Moreover, Brian Cashman, who believes that the left-field situation can be resolved internally, is unlikely to approve this trade under any circumstances.

The bottom line is that the deal between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Yankees is unlikely to go ahead of the Pirates do not lower their demands. However, if at all the Bombers move out, the Texas Rangers could be the front runners. The rangers are rooting badly for a player of Bryan Reynolds’ stature. Moreover, they have the pitching options that the Pirates desperately need. Hence, Bryan Reynolds could head to Texas if the Yankees do not come around on time. FYI, the trade window closes in less than two months.

For Yankees, they have a strong roster for the upcoming season. They have ticked all the boxes barring the left field. Hence, they wanted Bryan Reynolds to be a part of their bullpen. However, the front office could not have possibly guessed that the Pirates would go this far for the trade. Nonetheless, if the trade does not follow, the club will have to make adjustments within the roster to fill in that spot. For instance, Aaron Hicks is the most probable candidate for the left field.
