The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets last night 122-109 without LeBron James. The Nuggets gave the Lakers the first taste of loss in the new year. Before playing the Nuggets at home, the Lakers had a great unbeaten run of 5 games. It was going to be a tough game with a top side without their star player LeBron James. Although the Lakers have improved as a team, they still depend on their star players. In the meantime, the Lakers’ front office is losing time as the trade deadline is approaching with less than a month left.
Without the Lakers’ best man Lebron James on the court, Russell took it upon himself to make the best out of the opportunity. He managed to score 25 points with seven rebounds and seven assists to help his team. But the Lakers started the game underhanded and missed loads of chances because of their poor shooting performance. During the game, there was a spell where the Lakers remained pointless and conceded ten points. Ever since the first quarter, LA players only tailed the lead taken by the offensively superior Denver Nuggets.

LeBron James Calls Himself Unselfish Talking About All-Time Scoring Points
In an ESPN SportsCenter interview, LeBron James said he considers himself a “pass first” player. In comparison, discussing his proximity to breaking the all-time NBA scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Although the 38-year-old has a reputation as an exceptional passer, many people dont believe seeing his playing style. He even ranks sixth in the All time most assists in the NBA. He also added that he’s always been more interested in his teammates’ success than the scoring record. In the meantime, people just dont agree with the four-time champ and write disagreeing tweets on the internet.
LeBron James stated that he doesn’t consider himself a “scorer” in the sense that it is not what defines him as a player. He acknowledged that breaking the scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is an impressive accomplishment. But having said that, it’s not something that is important to him as a player, and he never felt that way. The Lakers superstar enjoys watching his teammates’ success more than his own.
Further, the 18-time All-star mentioned more about his future. ESPN reports suggest that LeBron James has two remaining years left in his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. James is only 500 points away from surpassing Abdul-Jabbar’s record. In the later parts of the interview, James also mentions his wish to win the titles. But at the same time, he wants to extend his career to be able to share the wooden court with his son in the NBA league. As per the norms, Bronny James can not play in the NBA until 2024/25. So James will have to push a little further to make it happen.
