Oswaldo Cabrera Yankees

The number of days left this year is dwindling fast. And so are the Yankees\’ chances of finding the right left-field option for the squad. As a result of the Yankees prioritizing players Aaron Judge and Carlos Rodon, the team missed out on the chance to hire several LF options in time. As a result, the Left-field has been the Yankees\’ most pressing question. So have they found a solution? Keep reading to find out.

Yankees Are Prepared To Start The Season With Internal LF Options!

The Yankees have had quite a fruitful time in this option as they flexed their financial muscles. The team successfully got Aaron Judge back from the Agency, in addition to Carlos Rodon, Anthony Rizzo, and others. However, the team has not been able to pick up a well-known Left-fielder from the market. Quoting the team\’s general manager Brian Cashman, the trade talks and negotiations for an LF option have been \”difficult\” for the Bombers.

Where might the team turn to recruit additional players, though, with the free agency shelves almost completely empty? Bryan Reynolds is now the most likely trade target. But the Pirates are allegedly demanding a lot in exchange for the outfielder. Reynolds or another outfielder won\’t be on the Yankees\’ roster in 2023 if they can\’t come up with a reasonable asking price. So, they\’ll be content to start the season with what they have.

Following the signing of his new contract on Wednesday morning, Aaron Judge had his first news conference. He mentioned that while the organization has acquired a lot of high-caliber players, there may still be a few moves to be made. Steinbrenner and manager Aaron Boone both repeated that assertion. Thus general manager Brian Cashman is likely to be on the lookout.

Meanwhile, Brian Cashman has revealed that the team is prepared to go with the options they already have in their roaster. He also shared that Aaron Hicks has healed from a knee injury, and he seems promising for the next season. Hicks could be ready to play in spring training, according to Brian. Oswaldo Cabrera, in his limited role as an outfielder, has also excelled at the same time.

They will, however, eventually continue to participate and watch to see where it leads. Cashman feels certain that the team can currently afford to sign a more reliable Leftfield option, but he is not certain of this.

The Yankees will definitely continue bolstering the squad in front of the 2023 season. It could be by adding additional bullpen support or filling the left-field position with a capable starter. The Yankees need to be strong in all areas if they want to compete with the Houston Astros in the postseason. Rather than liabilities as they were at the conclusion of the 2022 campaign. A failing tactic in crucial situations was to rely on young players like Oswaldo Cabrera and Oswald Peraza. However, having some prior experience should be helpful going ahead.
