New York Yankees Are In The Front Line To ACQUIRE Pitcher Carlos Rodon! Trade Talks In Priority

The New York Yankees are surely doing some heavy lifting this off-season. On the one hand, the team\’s battle to re-hire the most-desired free agent Aaron Judge continues. However, on the other, they are also targeting several other players to strengthen their roaster. If the Yankees were to have a better shot at the next year\’s MLB title, what they need are a few really good pitchers. And that\’s exactly where Carlos Rodon fits. 

Carlos Randon Is a Yankees\’ Priority!

The Yankees continue to place a high premium on superstar slugger Aaron Judge while maintaining daily touch with Carlos Rodon\’s organization. They have always favored him above Justin Verlander or, most definitely, Jacob deGrom as a rotation option. This is mostly because he is younger and pitches left-handed at Yankee Stadium. Despite not having yet specified their budget down to the dollar, rumors have it that the Yankees may still fit Rodon on their salary if Judge returns. On Monday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone remarked, \”And he\’s the starter that has their focus. He is quite talented.\”

Meanwhile, Rodon\’s problem is that being the younger and less expensive ace on the market, he has a large market. Unexpected entries despite signing top pitcher Jacob deGrom to a $185 million, five-year contract, Baltimore and Minnesota have now joined the expected group of the Dodgers, Giants, and Rangers that met on Rodon.

After signing Justin Verlander for $86.6 million, it\’s unclear if the Mets are still interested in Rodon, there are mixed indications. However, even though they admire him, they have often avoided players with qualifying offers. A second factor enhanced Verlander\’s appeal over Rodon.

The Mets are still interested in Japanese standout Kodai Senga and former Yankee Jameson Taillon. Neither of those pitchers has a qualifying offer attached. Therefore neither would result in the loss of a draft pick. As a result of signing deGrom, the Mets have already acquired one draft selection. In order to complete their rotation, the Mets are also considering signing Chris Bassitt back and Andrew Heaney, who had a strong comeback season with the Dodgers.

While Rodon is currently, without a doubt, the finest pitcher available and can take advantage of that, he has made it obvious that he wants a six-year contract.
