It has been almost a decade since Lewis Hamilton joined the Mercedes Formula One team in 2013. During these years, the Briton and the German car manufacturer wrote several chapters of the era of dominance in the motorsport. They have won multiple Drivers and Constructor titles during their time together. And now, Hamilton has confirmed that his time with Mercedes is not ending anytime soon. He is all set to have the contract-extension talks with the team.

Given Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton\’s poor run in the ongoing Formula One 2022 season, many speculations started to rise. One of them was that the British driver might bid farewell to the sport after the conclusion of the season. However, Lewis Hamilton has put the rumors to rest that he would leave Mercedes and Formula One.

Hamilton recently provided a significant update on his future with Mercedes. The seven-time world champion stated that he plans to meet with team boss Toto Wolff soon to discuss his options. Since leaving McLaren in 2013, Lewis Hamilton has only been with Mercedes. However, there have been concerns over the 37-year-olds future in the motorsport due to rumors that he would leave Formula 1. By the end of the following season in 2023, his contract will expire. However, the Silver Arrows driver stated that he would meet with Wolff in the coming months. The British national has vehemently asserted that his current contract will be extended.

In a recent interview with Motorsports.com, Lewis Hamilton discussed his future. During the conversation, he stated, \”We are going to do another deal. In the coming few months, we will sit down to talk about it.\” He also acknowledged his deep faith in the company\’s reputation and its employees. Lewis aspires to be the best teammate I could possibly be for them. Not only that, the former world champion wants to strengthen, expand accessibility for, and improve the brand even more than it already is. He considers himself to be an essential member of the group.

This season, Lewis Hamilton will try to avoid setting an undesirable record. However, it is the only season since he joined Formula One in which he did not win a single race. Lewis has three races left to win his first race of the season. And apparently, he will try to cross the finish line first in Mexico, Brazil, and Abu Dhabi.

Lately, Hamilton informed Mercedes CEO Wolff earlier that the driver may still be competing for the next five years when he would be in his thirties. Despite a turbulent last year, Lewis Hamilton has his eyes on the future. He wants the Silver Arrows camp to relive its heyday and wishes to prolong his relationship with the Brackley-based organization.
