The Red Bull team and its boss Christian Horner have been in the news for a few days now, ever since the alleged budget cap row began. Meanwhile, last week FIA confirmed that the Austrian team did, in fact, exceed the spending limit. And now, the team captain has gone full offense mode against the Formula One governing body, saying that over-complicating rules make it difficult for teams to conduct their business smoothly.

Christian Horner Berated FIA\’s \’Over-complicated\’ Regulations!

Christian Horner, the CEO of Red Bull, has blasted the Formula One rules once again for being too intricate. To enable a more efficient administration of motorsport, he urged the FIA to simplify them. The chief has remarked that the FIA\’s existing regulations might stand to be improved upon for F1. After suffering a \”small\” violation of the rules, the team is presently grappling with the expense cap dilemma. On top of that, to establish their punishment, Horner\’s team is now in conversation with the FIA. Red Bull was discovered to have spent an additional £2 million for the 2021 season than their allotted budget of £114 million.

The Austrian firm expressed astonishment that it had been discovered to have broken the rules. Horner even expressed confidence that they are innocent of any wrongdoing. Red Bull claims that there are misunderstandings about how their breaches relate. Seemingly, the reason for the excessive spending is absenteeism, worker meals, and unused auto parts.

In a conversation with Bloomberg, Christian Horner talked about these problems. Horner said that he would probably lessen the number of rules they have to follow when asked what one thing he would alter. Also, he wants the FIA to make the rules more clear. Horner even discussed the challenges of operating on such a limited budget while striving to improve and grow their car during the season. In 2022, Max Verstappen won 12 of the 18 races, despite the RB18 winning 14 of the 18 contests.

Red Bull boss also explained how the introduction would assist teams in becoming more successful and attractive from the perspective of investors despite his team risking financial penalties as a result of their infringement of the budget cap.
