As the 2023 MLB season progresses, fans and experts eagerly anticipate the announcement of the All-Star Game rosters. The All-Star game is set to take place in July in Seattle. Moreover, the voting lines have opened up for fans to pitch for their favorite stars. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees, a team with a rich history of All-Star representatives, boast a roster filled with talent and potential.

The New York Yankees have a roster filled with talent, making it difficult to predict exactly which players will represent the team in the 2023 All-Star Game. However, based on their track record, performance, and impact on the team, we have managed to club together three deserving names who should feature in the All-Star game by all means.

Aaron Judge

Let’s begin with the obvious one. No prizes for guessing, it’s Aaron Judge. Just like last season, the Yankees captain has dominated the league with his sheer offensive power despite fighting with repeated injuries. While he is on IL momentarily, he had hit .291 with 19 home runs and 40 RBIs prior to the recent toe injury. Judge had missed a few days in May and is currently out of action for 10 days. Despite the missed time, the slugger is leading the offensive stats. Not only that, as of June 12, the captain is leading the voting charts of the American League by a major margin over Mike Trout. Hence, all things considered, Aaron Judge is likely to be a confirmed name for the All-Star game, provided he remains healthy, of course.

Yankees ace, Gerrit Cole, is the second Yankee who deserves a place in the All-Star roster. Since the beginning of the season, Cole has dealt with immense pressure in the absence of a complete rotation. His supposed partner, Carlos Rodon, is yet to pitch this season. Moreover, Lusi Severino and Clarke Schmidt are struggling on a constant basis. Hence, the entire responsibility of pitching lies over Gerrit’s shoulders. While he had a subpar outing in May, the pitcher’s overall stats are still worthy enough to make him an All-Star pitcher. He had a 2.84 ERA in 14 starts. Also, his home run percentage has fallen to 0.9. Despite the lack of support, he has always come on top to rescue the Yankees in dire situations. All factors combined make Cole a much deserving candidate for the All-Star roster.

Michael King

Ok, so this might come as a surprise to many. But the ones who have been following Michael King‘s trajectory know why he, too, deserves a place in the All-Star roster. When the Yankees’ starters fell prey to injury, the onus was shifted to the bullpen to take up additional responsibilities. And the one reliever who stood out the most was Michael King. He has pitched in 21 games so far and recorded a low 2.25 ERA. Another important aspect is that King, for the most part of the season, had come out under difficult situations with runners on the bases. Not only has he averted the risk of a run, but the reliever has also managed to close off the games. Overall, King is doing more than what an average reliever is supposed to do. Hence, King must be a part of the All-Star bullpen this season.
