The New York Yankees finally smashed the long-withstanding series losing streak after winning the recent one against the Cleveland Guardians. The young brigade consisting of Anthony Volpe and Willie Calhoun stepped up on the occasion and guided the team to a much-needed victory. However, the recent win ended on a bitter note for the Bombers.

Yesterday, during the rubber game against the Guardians, the Yankees came back in the fifth inning after trailing by 2-0. Willie Calhoun scored a powerful homer, and the rest of the offense capitalized on it to register a heroic victory. However, all of it ended on a bittersweet note for the fans. Two key players of the current lineup faced a massive injury scare and had to leave the game midway. Hence, the fans are worried, as they should be.

The other day, the New York Yankees won the series against the Cleveland Guardians but could not get enough time to celebrate the win. They faced two massive injury concerns, which could now further deepen the team’s injury crisis. At the top of the ninth inning, Oscar Gonzalez of the Guardians launched a hit toward center off Clay Holmes’ sweeper. However, in the pursuit of the ball, outfielders Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Harrison Bader had a collision that hurt the center fielder. Bader, who just came out of the IL a couple of days ago, left the game after the fall as Oswaldo Cabrera came off the bench to replace him. However, the skipper, Aaron Boone, said Bader looked in good spirits after the collision and should be fine.

On the other hand, the Yankees’ top prospect, Oswaldo Peraza, came in as a pinch runner for Anthony Rizzo at the bottom of the ninth inning. However, while making an attempt to steal a base, the shortstop rolled his ankle. On top of that, Peraza did not abort his run and continued running with that injured ankle. As a result, he, too, left the field and headed down to get the necessary X-Rays done. The manager, Aaron Boone, addressed Oswald’s issue and said he was not aware of the severity of the shortstop’s injury. The team would have to wait for the X-Rays reports to come in. Looking at the current state of the team, a possible stint on IL for either Bader or Peraza should not shock the fans.

Yankee Fans In Deep Anguish Over Recent Injuries

Meanwhile, the Yankee fan base has not taken the recent injury updates too well. To be fair, they have all the right to be frustrated and angry, as the Yankees’ recent injury crisis has been somewhat overwhelming for the fans to deal with. Hence, the fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration. A few fans said the season was already lost, so just put an end to it and end the torture.

Certainly, the recent injuries to Harrison Bader and Oswald Peraza came in as a setback for the fans. However, so far, the injuries look minor, and both players could return to the lineup sooner than anticipated. Hence, the fans, for now, must hold their faith for a little longer as the current season is just one month old.
