The New York Yankees have been dealing with a lot of injuries in the last few years. In fact, it is quite a common problem for the Bronx Bombers to have key players on the Injured List. Last year, the team reached another height due to injury issues. Moreover, injuries to key players can really cost a season. That’s what happened in 2023 for the 27-time champions. As usual, the NY side was one of the contenders for the World Series. But injuries to players like Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, Jasson Dominguez, and so on ruined the 2023 campaign for the Pinstripes. In the end, the Yankees could not make the postseason for the first time since 2016.

They finished fourth in the American League East with an 82-80 record. It meant that they barely managed to maintain the streak of winning seasons. But it was nothing less than tremendous shame for the Pinstripes. Hence, the team and the fans pray that they don’t have a long IL this year. However, in the spring training itself, key players like Aaron Judge, Gerrit Cole, and DJ LeMahieu seem not 100% healthy. The ace pitcher will stay out for one to two months. Judge is getting ready for the Opening Day. But the Yankees manager shows concern over the fitness of the oldest name on the rotation.

On Saturday, DJ LeMahieu sustained a foot injury due to a foul ball. The veteran third baseman will miss a few games this season owing to a foot injury. DJ went for a CT scan and X-ray. Later, the reports came back negative for fracture. However, the Yankees skipper mentioned DJ’s foot is still sore. It might prevent him from playing. Later, Bryan Hoch wrote on X (previously called Twitter) about Boone’s detailed analysis of DJ LeMahieu and his foot injury. The Yankees manager noted that DJ is still pretty sore. But the oldest member in the roster can move around a lot better at present.

Moreover, Aaron Boone sounded quite definite when he said DJ would miss a few games for that injury. Boone mentioned, “It will cost him some days here.” Later, the Yankees manager told the New York Post that they would keep listening to the foot. He hopes it will get better. There is no reason why it won’t get better. However, Boone feels there is no point speculating about it too much. Later, he revealed the team would monitor the injury every two days. So far in the spring training, DJ LeMahieu had a pretty good time. He played ten spring training games with a .276 on-base percentage.
