Juan Soto has changed the offensive prowess of the New York Yankees this season. Even before the Dominican superstar joined the franchise, the NY side had some star names in their offense. For instance, Aaron Judge is the captain of the side and also the MVP winner of the 2022 season. Then, there are Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton in the batting order. But these guys were there last year as well. What happened in 2023 for the Bronx Bombers? They finished with the second-worst batting average in the league. Only the nine-time champions, the Oakland Athletics, had it even worse than the Pinstripes. Moreover, injuries really ravaged their season last year.

Aaron Judge hurt his toe really badly. Later on, it turned out to be a torn ligament, and he missed 35 games in a row. On the other hand, Anthony Rizzo could not play the whole season owing to post-concussion syndrome. Nothing really went the Yankee’s way in 2023. But this year so far, the Bronx Bombers are playing with a healthy squad and every key player has been performing really well. But the most impactful player has been Juan Soto. There is no doubt about that. Even the manager hails the greatness of the Dominican slugger.

On Sunday, the San Francisco were leading 5-3 until the ninth inning. But the NY side’s batting lineup showed how damaging they can be at any point. Moreover, Juan Soto hit his former teammate Blake Snell for a home run very early in the game. However, it was Gleyber Torres and catcher Jose Trevino who sparked the Yankees comeback in the ninth inning. The Dominican superstar led the rally in the ninth inning. It impressed everybody but mostly it did impress the manager Aaron Boone. Moreover, in the post-game interview, the Yankees skipper mentioned that Soto’s at-bats on Sunday was nothing short of “Savage.”

He also added a “Just Wow.” Moreover, Boone mentioned that first of all it was impressive to see how Juan Soto hit a home run off the 2023 NL Cy Young winner. But then it was great to see how Soto “Bookends the day with another homer” off Camilo Doval. That homer in the ninth inning off Doval was a two-run home run which helped the Yankees get to 7-5 in the end. Moreover, now, Juan Soto has hit 17 home runs in the 2024 season which proves he is in red hot form wearing the iconic pinstripe uniform.

In the post-game interview on Sunday, Juan Soto said that everybody in the dugout believes that they can do damage, they can do something. He believes the team is capable and he has complete faith over his teammates. The positive mentality is what can take them a long way.

Moreover, Juan Soto added that they always like to stay positive. He said, “We always think we can do it.” Later, Soto credits the hustle of catcher Jose Trevino that sparked the surge in the ninth inning. He said, “Trevino did something that was huge.” The Yankees catcher ran down that ground ball and beat it out.
