The New York Yankees are finally back to winning ways, thanks to the offensive resurgence. The return of Captain Aaron Judge brought a new fighting spirit to the Yankee clubhouse. While the slugger has so far been the top contributor, the rest of the hitting squad has played a good supporting role, at least good enough to help the team win by the barest of margins.

Nonetheless, there still exists a few missing pieces in the Yankees lineup, which made it look like a lethal roster prior to the start of the season. Particularly, the two regular members of the starting members, Josh Donaldson and Giancarlo Stanton, have been missed the most. The duo suffered from hamstring pulls on different timelines. But due to unfortunate setbacks in the rehab process, both landed on the same recovery plan.

Giancarlo Stanton, who suffered from a hamstring injury in April, was spotted at the Yankee stadium doing live batting practice. The hitter has reportedly recovered well and could soon begin his rehab assignment as early as this weekend. However, for that, he would need to clear the imaging test. The Yankee will send him for imaging, and the end results of the test will determine if the DH can continue with the rehab assignment. Stanton left the team while being in red-hot form. His absence was felt by the Bombers during the offensive slump in early May. Hence, the fans would hope Stanton returns as soon as possible.

On the other hand, third baseman Josh Donaldson also suffered from a hamstring pull in the first week of April. On top of that, he sliced his thumb at home while doing some household work which further delayed his recovery plans by a few days. Nonetheless, the baseman is fine and all set to commence his second rehab assignment. Remember, Donaldson played with Double-A Somerset Patriots a few weeks ago but did not attain the desired results. However, the 37-year-old is up for another assignment with the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, which will go on floors from Thursday and go on all the way till Sunday. After Sunday, the Yankees management will asses if this much is enough for Josh to rejoin the major league roster.

The New York Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, is facing the tough task of putting a strong roster together amid an injury crisis. Recently, the skipper shared a few injury updates on Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson. Speaking on Donaldson, Boone confirmed that if his rehab assignment goes well, the baseman car return during the team’s next road trip in Seattle.

On the other hand, Aaron Boone didn’t look much confident on Giancarlo Stanton’s return. He said they would send Stanton for imaging on Thursday to determine if he is fit enough to play in the minors. If the results come positive, Stanton will commence his first rehab assignment with Josh Donaldson in Triple-A. Overall, it could still be a week, at least, before we could see either of the two in action.
