The New York Yankees have missed their top prospect, Jasson Dominguez, since last year in the big league. He suffered a UCL tear and got on the 60-day Injured List. The ‘Martian’ could not play a lot of games in his debut season in 2023. But he definitely proved why the NY side rates him so highly. His power-hitting skills will bolster the offense of the Bronx Bombers in the future when he comes back stronger to the lineup. Lately, he has been performing well in the minor leagues. It seemed like he was ready to get back to the big league.

However, the problem has been the current form of the Yankees. They have been performing really well, especially, the outfielders, Aaron Judge, Alex Verdugo and Juan Soto. Moreover, the Yankees can’t leave them out unless they sustain injuries. Hence, the 21-year-old outfielder had to wait for his callback to the lineup for a while anyway. But then, the NY side announced that they had to put Dominguez on the Injured List yet again. This time, it seems he suffered from an oblique strain.

Lately, the heart of the Yankees Faithful were in their mouth when Aaron Judge got drilled in his hand. Later, the CT scan and X-rays revealed that the 2022 AL MVP did not suffer a fracture. That was great news for the fans in the Bronx. But injuries never really left the NY side’s clubhouse. The first baseman, Anthony Rizzo, is on the 10-day Injured List. On the other hand, Jasson Dominguez in the minor league suffered an oblique strain lately. At least, that’s what Aaron Boone said. Later, the MRI revealed that the Martian has a left oblique strain. According to Daily News, the manager mentioned that he is aware of the oblique issue that Dominguez is dealing with.

But he will need the MRI reports to understand the severity of the injury. Anyway, it seems like the Yankees will sideline the 21 year old Dominican slugger for some more time yet again. They don’t have a choice here. Last Saturday, Dominguez went on to hit with an awkward check swing. Later, Aaron Boone mentioned that it was enough to put him on the Injured List. Apparently, that swing caused the oblique strain on his left side. Now, the Yankees don’t have good enough outfielders in the minor league at this point. Even Everson Pereira is on the IL too.

Jasson Dominguez Was Having A Good Minor League Season

Last September, the ‘Martian’ had to undergo UCL surgery because of the tear that ended his 2023 season. Later, the reports suggested that Jasson Dominguez will be back in the Yankees rotation somewhere in the middle of the ongoing season. That time was necessary for his recovery after Tommy John surgery.

He was able to play over 23 games in the minor leagues prior to suffering the left oblique strain. Dominguez slashed .356/.404/.609 with six homers and 13 RBIs. But after the Yankees transferred his rehab assignments to Triple-A, Jasson Dominguez enjoyed a slash line of .389/.405/.639 with a couple of home runs in nine games.
