Yankees\’ Giancarlo Stanton Set To Return From Injury Next Week, LaMahieu Avoids Injured List!

Giancarlo Stanton Yankees

The New York Yankees are facing a disappointing run since the All-Star break, as they have gone 3-11 in August. The Yankees made it to the break with a league-leading record of 64-28. However, the franchise has stumbled badly ever since, conceding 11 of their last 14 games. One of the major reasons behind the team\’s struggles has been the absence of their best players due to injuries. However, it seems like there is finally a ray of hope at the end of the road.

The team has missed Giancarlo Stanton, who was sidelined in late July due to an Achilles Tendinitis injury. The Pinstripers went 7-14 in Stanton\’s absence. The 32-year-old was added to the injured list for the second time this season after a right calf injury in me. In 80-games, the 32-year-old is hitting .228/.309./498 with 24 home runs and 61 RBIs. Thus, the return of Stanton to the Yankees bullpen will allow Aaron Judge to get back to the right field and possibly move a struggling Hicks out of the center field.

The Yankees have been forced to make a lot of changes in their roster during the three-game series against the Tampa rays. They recalled outfielder Estevan Florial, infielder Oswaldo Cabrera, reliever Ron Marinaccio, and placed Clay Holmes on the IL. The Bombers would hope that Stranton would return well as he heads on a rehab assignment this week. Thus, Giancarlo Stanton is expected to return to the Yankees lineup sometime next week if everything goes right.

DJ LaMahieu Avoids The Yankees\’ Injured List

The Yankees infielder DJ LaMahieu had an inflated right big toe and has missed out on the last three games. The 34-year-old was expected to be a bench option before returning to the lineup on Thursday against the Blue Jays. Luckily, he managed to avoid the IL and went through a full pregame program workout on Wednesday.

The three-time All-Star told that he was feeling better after resting for three days and getting treatment, medicine, and orthotics. However, DJ would have to manage his toe tissue for the rest of the season. However, he was confident about playing through the problem. DJ LaMahieu said, \”Hopefully, these three or four days really put it in the right direction.\”

The Yankees have lost all the games DJ missed, as they continue their terrible 2-11 record in the last 13 games. Mathieu shared how tough watching his team lose and not being a part of it. He added, \”But I tell them how I feel, and we go from there.\”
