The New York Yankees have been one of the most successful baseball teams in the history of the sport. It was like the fans of the franchise have been the luckiest. No other baseball franchise has won more World Series than them. In fact, no other team even comes close. Moreover, they have won the World Series for a record 27 times. The Bronx Bombers are one of the most iconic sports teams in history. But for over a decade, the Yankees have not been able to win a World Series. Moreover, they have recently displayed one of the worst franchise performances in franchise history.

Even though fans and certain experts believe there is no chance the Yankees can make the playoffs this year, the team still wants to believe. Recently, in a three-game series, the Atlanta Braves won against the New York Yankees with a complete sweep. Clearly, there is a huge difference between the players of the two teams in terms of injury concerns. Most of the Braves players are healthy and at the prime of their careers. It is still a long way to go for the Yankees to get there.

Fans Are Not Hopeful About Playoff Chances, But The Team Still Is

But the Yankees do believe they can turn things around this season. They return home for a series against their arch-rivals, Boston Red Sox. However, the fans might not show much hope at Yankee Stadium at present. In the last nine games at The Bronx, the Yankees lost seven times. They fell under .500 for the first time in two years and beyond. To give the fans some hope back, the New York side must do something great against the Red Sox in their next series at home. Moreover, Aaron Judge mentioned they are very hopeful to come back home. Aaron Judge knows they have to get past the last road trip as it did not go according to plans. Hence, they have a lot of work to do.

The Yankees outfielder feels they are just a couple of winning streaks away from where they want to be. However, this team has not shown many possibilities of a streak coming. In their last 13 series, the Yankees are 1-9-3. The only team they were able to beat in the previous 13 series was Kansas City Royals. It was a clean sweep for the NY side against a lowly team. Like Judge, Aaron Boone, the manager too, suggests they can turn things around. According to the New York Post, Boone mentioned he has been part of the game a long time, and things don’t always go as planned. But they must keep fighting. Not much time is remaining, but there are a few things the Bronx Bombers can do in the final quarter.

What Can The Yankees Do To Turn Things Around In The Final Quarter?

First of all, the Yankees can call up Everson Pereira. He is the number three prospect, according to MLB Pipelines. His batting average has been .308, six homers with a .876 OPS, and 31 RBI that came in 32 games. Moreover, The Yankees can promote Oswald Peraza and give Randy Vasquez a proper chance to display his skills. On top of that, the NY side can replace Luis Severino with Michael King. Also, in the order, the Yankees can drop Giancarlo Stanton.

Moreover, they can give less chance to Jake Bauers and Billy McKinney. They are better as role players than regulars. Meanwhile, Boone’s side can give a rest to Anthony Rizzo for the rest of the season. Instead, Aaron Boone can try Jonathan Loaisiga out and give him some save opportunities. The New York side must give Gerrit Cole an opportunity to win the Cy Young Award. He is the best thing happening for the team this season. Rewarding him whenever they can is the least the Bronx Bombers can do.
