Looks like the New York Yankees are all set to wind up their 40-men bullpen. Since the start of the free agency period, they were sure of resigning the biggest free agent of the season, Aaron Judge. They also added Anthony Rizzo, Carlos Rodon, and Tommy Kahnle to the roster to make a solid case for the 2023 World Title series. The left field is the only section for which the Bombers are still looking. But it looks like the search has finally ended. But who will join the Yankees and their Left Fielder? Keep reading to find out.
Yankees Eyeing This Veteran For Left Field
Until last week, Diamondbacks\’ Daulton Varsho was considered the top option for the Yankees\’ only vacant position. However, after Arizona traded Varsho to Blue Jays, the Yankees\’ search for a starting left fielder got even shorter. They also lost on Michael Conforto, Michael Brantley, Andrew Benintendi, and some more, who might\’ve alleviated the bullpen. Now, the Bombers\’ general manager Brian Cashman might consider the remaining options, Max Kepler & Bryan Reynolds, for the trade. However, there is one name that could surprisingly turn out a big game-changer for the bullpen.

David Peralta, a 35-year-old veteran, is a free agent who is loose and out of the sight of major big franchises. He was on the Yankees\’ radar the previous year as well. However, the left fielder chose to join Tampa Bay Rays and provide .255 hitting with a 31.7% on base rate in 47 games. He was in Arizona from the start of his career until landing with the Jays. In his entire career, he has hit 110 career homers with 486 RBIs and averaged 111 wRC+.
If the Yankees make a logical approach, then adding David Peralta as the left fielder will be a golden opportunity for them. Being a veteran, he would cost next to nothing to acquire for the season. Defensively as well, Peralta is a decent player, recording a .991 fielding percentage with two errors over 927 innings in left field last season. As per the reports, the Bombers are looking for a cheap option to fill the position. And Peralta will fit the role perfectly.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Also A Good Option For The Bombers

Diamondback Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is also one of the names that Yankees can consider as per their need and demand. He brings an experienced presence to a position group with very little big-league experience for Arizona. Apparently, Gurriel isn\’t an ideal prospect as the left fielder. However, if all the walls close on the Yankees in the upcoming future, then Gurriel isn\’t a bad option to add to the bullpen as well.
