All is not well in the ESPN Network as last week Michael Kay got into an ugly argument with a fellow colleague on air.

Michael Kay is a well-known name in the New York sports arena. He hosts a radio talk show on ESPN network dedicated to New York Yankees wherein he discusses all things going around the Bronx Bombers. Undoubtedly, he is very well popular and regarded as the voice of the Yankees. However, things got ugly last week when Kay was holding yet another talk show.

Michael Kay was hosting ESPN New York Show last Friday when a strange incident took place. While the show was running on air, Ray Santiago, ESPN’s producer for the show “DiPietro & Rothenberg,” passed a sarcastic comment. Like his usual self, Kay did not take it well and instantly snapped. He even threatened to have Santiago fired with a single phone call.

Michael Kay’s recent altercation with a fellow colleague on an ESPN show on air has gone viral on social media. Ray Santiago apparently took a dig at Kay related to his talk show rating going down. To this, Kay responded in an unruly manner and threatened to have Ray fired with a single phone call. Moreover, Michael Kay called out Santiago for his audacity to make a comment like that. Further, he said that he could get Ray unemployed with a single call which he was considering dialing at that moment.

Meanwhile, the video of the entire altercation is going viral on social media. Moreover, Kay is facing severe backlash for his behavior on the air. Now, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post has reported that Michael Kay is considering stepping down from ESPN and issuing a resignation. Apparently, he is unhappy with the producer and also with ESPN for mishandling the entire situation.

“Do you realize, Ray, that all I’d have to do is make one phone call, and you would be on the unemployment line” said Michael Kay

Michael Kay And His Controversial Antics

Famous New York Yankees broadcaster, Michael Kay, has stayed in the news for all the wrong reasons. His antics on air have not gone down well with the fans in the past, and he was trolled massively. And now, even in this situation, Kay is shifting the blame. He is reportedly holding Santiago responsible for the entire fiasco. However, his behavior on air was uncalled for and cannot be justified. Kay could have dealt with the situation more calmly after the show ended.

Meanwhile, Michael Kay does not have anywhere else to go apart from ESPN owing to his stained image. Hence, stepping down might not just be one of the wisest decisions. However, ESPN Network, in retaliation, could take action and show Kay the exit doors under disciplinary grounds.
