Yankees\’ Aaron Judge On His Way To Win The Triple Crown & 2022 MLB MVP Award? What Are The Chances?

Yankees Aaron Judge

Despite the New York Yankees having a mediocre season, there is no denying the fact that Aaron Judge is in the form of his life. Even though LA Angeles\’ Shohei Ohtani is one of the frontrunners, there is no doubt that Judge is almost certain to win the MVP award in the ongoing MLB 2022 season. Moreover, he has put himself in the competition to claim a triple crown, an impressive feat in which a batter leads his league in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in.

Will Aaron Judge Become The 2022 MVP?

This MVP discussion has started to take some weird direction. At least among fights that have already concluded weeks ago, it could be the hottest debate ever. Between Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, the American League\’s nominee for the MVP still has one choice. But as we approach the closing weeks of the regular season, the contest is becoming more competitive.

Voters from MLB.com were asked to pick each league\’s top five MVP contenders based on recent events and predictions for the next weeks. A total of 50 voters participated in the voting process. They awarded points to players on a scale of 5-4-3-2-1. With 5 points for first place, 4 points for second, and so on. Sunday saw Judge knock two more home runs. One to the opposing field\’s upper deck and the other to left-center field, up close to Bernie\’s Chalet. He now leads the American League in home runs with 59 in a single season, which is a record. He is virtually certain to surpass Roger Maris\’ 61-homer record.

Aaron Judge, who aims to break the home run record, already has 59 home runs with just under 20 games remaining. Apparently, the headline should focus on the home runs, which they do. Judge has 59 homers as of Thursday, making him highly likely to become the first player to reach 60 points since PED suspicions first surfaced in 1961. After Bonds and Sammy Sosa achieved it 21 years ago, nobody has hit 60 in a season since. But Judge is unquestionably on track to pull it off and surpass Maris. With more home runs incoming, the outfielder would join Maris and Babe Ruth (1927) as the third Yankee to smash 60 home runs in a season.

There is no way to argue that anyone had a greater impact on the campaign in 2022 than Aaron Judge. He is leading the league in runs, RBIs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, and total bases. So, chances are that Judge might also achieve the Triple Crown. Shockingly, everyone around Judge is hurting, ill, or expecting to get back soon. Yet Judge is practically single-handedly keeping the Yankees afloat. While he had a strong fantasy half, the Yankees have lost six games since the break. But looks like the Bombers are edging towards their regular winning streak. They might also achieve some good wins in the remaining races.
