When FIA marked the end of the turbo-hybrid era and launched the new regulations of ground running, Ferrari succeeded in first place adjusting to them. In the initial part of the season, even Red Bull was facing issues, but the Scuderia team was winning. The drivers, in combination, won four of the starting races. However, soon the F1-75 started demanding upgrades to maintain its pace, which the team failed to provide. And, thus RB18 started defeating the Scuderia drivers.
However, in the later part of the season, when the rivals, including Mercedes, brought upgrades, Ferrari became helpless. This is because they had already reached the cost cap budget. Bringing any more improvements in the F1-75 would have led the Scuderia team to breach the 2022 budget of $140 million. Still, Charles Leclerc sealed the runner-up position in the driver’s standings, and Carlos Sainz came under the top five contenders of the championship.

Talking about where the team needs to work this winter with Formu1a. uno, Ferrari’s ex-boss Mattia Binotto shared the details of the next year’s ‘675’ project. Looks like the Ferrari principal has already figured out the key to success in Formula One. He believes in focusing on making a faster and more reliable car is the key to fighting at the top for the championship.
Mattia has a great setback plan for next year, but sadly he is leaving the Scuderia kingdom by the end of this year.
Nevertheless, before resigning, the Ferrari boss gave the idea on which the new project would be based. First of all, it will not be copied from Red Bull or from anyone. Mattia Binotto said that the F1-75 had a great starting point this year, so the new car’s concept will be the same. “We will stay loyal to our concept.” And that’s how the Scuderia team will try to improve their performance in every area.
Ferrari Never Run At Maximum Power Unit. But Next Year, It Will!
In addition, for the next F1 championship campaign, Ferrari is preparing a new engine. The new engine will be more reliable in reaching the highest pace with full unit power. These changes that Ferrari has been introducing in the 675 car will make it stronger in front of RB18. This year the team did a lot better, but surely, the drivers never get to run at the maximum power level. An Italian Journalist Leo Turrini came out to claim that the engine was the problem that prevented Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz from performing better.
The Journalist believes that the Maranello power unit has never run at 25/30 horsepower or 6/7 tenths per lap. Also, Formu1a.uno has suggested that Ferrari did not focus on changing this year’s problems. Instead, “the team were concentrated on producing new parts which aimed at a definitive fix to these issues for the upcoming season,” claims Formu1a.uno
If Ferrari succeeds in mending the above issues while making the new project, then definitely no one would be able to stop Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz from dominating in the 2023 Formula One season.
