Why Nick Young Thinks Stephen Curry, LeBron James & Kevin Durant Should Team Up In NBA Next Year?

Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant have never been part of the same team before. Steph and KD had a great partnership while they played for the Golden State Warriors alongside each other. Well, Curry is still part of the same franchise. But at present, KD is trying to help the Phoneix Suns progress in the playoffs. On the other hand, LBJ is trying to do the same with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the current situation of both the Suns and the Lakers is not the best that it can be. They are 0-2 down in the first round of the playoffs.

On the other hand, Stephen Curry is well past the pressure of the 2023-24 season. After all, the Sacramento Kings knocked out the Dubs on the play-in stage. Lately, Steph and his wife have been expecting their fourth child. And they have been planning for the 2024 Paris Olympics as well. KD, Bron, and Steph are all gearing up for the Olympic games this year. Obviously, they will team up with Team USA to win another gold medal. Recently, a former NBA champion raised the idea that the trio should team up in the league as well.

Is There A Chance That James, Curry & Durant Will Team Up For An NBA Franchise In The Future?

Steph, KD and Bron are among the all time greats. When Kevin Durant was part of the Golden State Warriors, they used to have an epic rivalry. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Dubs met in the NBA Finals four years in a row from 2015 to 2018. Moreover, the Stephen Curry-LeBron James rivalry was there in those four years. But KD joined the Dubs in 2017. After teaming up with Steph, Durant helped the Warriors win back-to-back NBA Finals. On the other hand, KD has won Olympic Gold medals, teaming up with LeBron James. But Stephen Curry has never played in the Summer games before. 2024 will be Steph’s first.

Apparently, it was the three-point King’s idea that these three guys should team up in the Paris Olympics. How about doing that for an NBA franchise in the future? That’s what former NBA champion Nick Young recently tweeted about. Young was part of the 2018 champion Dubs side. But he has played for the Lakers for a much longer time. Young was not wondering about seeing KD, Steph, and Bron team up in the All-Star game but teaming up for an NBA franchise. He said perhaps next year, the trio can team up in the NBA. However, it comes down to the contract situation of those players.

What’s The Possibility Of The Big 3 Team Up Next Season?

Currently, the trio seem to find each other at the same stage of their career. Chances are they won’t win an NBA Championship this year. Albeit, LeBron James led the LA side to become the inaugural champions of the “NBA Cup” or the “In-season tournament.” But things are getting really tough for both Bron and Durant to lead their respective teams in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.

However, in terms of contract situations, Golden State and the Suns are unlikely to trade their biggest stars. But the Lakers can devise a clever strategy to make the Big 3 wear the purple and gold uniform. Generally, Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss don’t shy away from making big moves. But to make the Big 3 with LBJ, KD, and Steph happen, they would have to trade some of their key players.
