Aaron Judge has been part of the New York Yankees in the big league since 2017. His first MLB season gave an idea of what to expect in the coming years from the California native. He had the best rookie season in MLB’s history until Pete Alonso of the NY Mets’ broke his record in 2019. Moreover, the power hitter of the Bronx Bombers back in 2017 hit over 50 home runs in his rookie season. That proved his unbelievable strength and consistency, with his towering height of 6’7 making him easily noticeable.

Eventually, in 2022, the Yankees superstar broke the American League home run record that belonged to another New York legend, Roger Maris, since 1961. Aaron Judge went on to hit an AL record 62 home runs, which earned him the AL MVP award that year. Subsequently, the NY side extended his contract with a nine-year deal worth $360 million and made him their new captain, succeeding Derek Jeter. However, recently, an MLB analyst said that perhaps the Big Apple doesn’t appreciate Judge enough.

Recently, via Audacy.com, MLB Analysts Tiki, Morash and Evan discussed the legacy of the current Yankees captain. Lately, SNY released their list of top 10 athletes in New York at present. Obviously, Aaron Judge is there on the list. However, Tiki mentioned that looking at Judge feels like the Big Apple does not appreciate him enough. He said, “Why don’t we appreciate the fact that he has 34 homers before the All-Star break and hitting over .300? That’s simply amazing.” Moreover, Tiki explained perhaps the reason is that the fans have gotten used to it. They expect the 2022 AL MVP to hit home runs as they say, “We count on him to hit homers.” When he does hit a home run, the Yankees Faithful will just say, “Good Job.”

Later, Morash added that it is the habit of the Yankees Nation to lose appreciation for their stars until they win a World Series. The MLB analyst also said that anything less than the “Big Dance” is a failure for the fans in the Bronx. However, the New York fans did praise the Knicks and Jalen Brunson for the last season. They reached the conference semifinals but lost to the Indiana Pacers 3-4. Despite losing in the second round, the fans appreciated Brunson and his teammates a lot more. But Morash said, “The nature of the fans in the Bronx leans negative.”

Morash Can’t Believe Brunson Taking Top Spot Over The Yankees Captain

Jalen Brunson, Aaron Judge

Recently, SNY released the list of top 10 athletes in New York. The Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson took the top spot over Aaron Judge. Morash mentioned, “With all due respect to the New York Knicks superstar, he has no business being numero uno over Judge in the Big Apple.” He added that Brunson has done a stunning job to bring the Knicks back in the playoffs. But Aaron Judge has been the best player of the most iconic team in baseball for many years. He has led the team well. Moreover, with Judge, the Yankees have been to the ALCS. In the NBA’s term, it was the conference finals where Judge has carried the team to.

This year, already halfway, the Yankees captain has hit 34 home runs and en route to over 60 home runs overall again. Moreover, Morash mentioned that in the MLB, the Big Apple has one of the best players in the league. There is always a debate between Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. But Morash mentioned, “No offense to Brunson, he is not the best player in the NBA.”
