New York Yankees vs. The Red Sox has established itself as one of the most fierce rivalries in Major League Baseball. Meanwhile, the Wednesday game between the two clubs was one of the strangest games you\’d come across. It was everything the rivalry stands for. Let\’s take a look at why this game was very unusual and how New York Yankees defeated Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.

Why Red Sox Lost Against The Yankees?

The Red Sox game against the Yankees on Wednesday stands out over all others as one of the oddest of the season for the team. The Red Sox suffered a 5-3 defeat due to many expensive mistakes that cost them at least three of the five runs the Yankees scored. Brayan Bello made his debut against the Yankees. Even with a thin New York lineup, Bello\’s first test came after a showing against the Orioles in which he allowed just three runs over five innings.

Because of Abraham Almonte\’s errors in the outfield in the ninth inning, the Red Sox gave the Yankees another free run. When Giancarlo Stanton hit a fly ball with one out, Almonte, who had an initial look at centerfield, misplayed it. Adding insult to injury, Almonte mishandled a long fly by Torres by bouncing it off the heel of his glove on the warning track. The Fenway Park scorers\’ determination proved costly. As he traced the ball back to the wall, Almonte nonetheless appeared quite uneasy.

The defensive side wasn\’t the only place where self-harm occurred. In the eighth inning, J.D. Martinez seemed to beat a throw to first base to avert a double play after hitting a one-out ground ball to shortstop with the bases loaded. But after the Yankees requested a review, it became evident that Martinez had simply never footed on the bag. Martinez made a mistake that lost the Red Sox a run and a chance to get on base with one out and runners on first and third. Instead. After an interesting top of the ninth for Almonte, they were down 5-2 going into the bottom of the inning.

Aaron Judge Hit Two Homers Against Red Sox!

It\’s uncommon for a Red Sox supporter to yell for a New York Yankee. Aaron Judge\’s most recent trip to Fenway Park led some devoted Bostonians to make an exception. Both of Judge\’s home runs—his 56th and 57th—are major league records. Additionally, the Yankees held on to defeat the Red Sox 7-6 on Tuesday night thanks to Gleyber Torres\’ game-tying, three-run double in the bottom of the 10th inning.
