Juan Soto, the New York Yankees newest superstar, faced an unfortunate health crisis last week when he was removed from the Twins series finale due to discomfort in forearm. While the generational star averted significant damage, the Yanks decided to play it safe and rested Soto from the Dodgers series.

Juan Soto is down with forearm inflammation and continues to be treated day-to-day. In his absence, Trent Grisham, the fourth outfielder, was promoted to center fielder during the home series against LA Dodgers. However, the Yankee crowd wasn’t nice to him. But he stood his ground and replied back in style in Sunday’s clutch game.

Trent Grisham, a regular outfielder, was traded from the San Diego Padres to the New York Yankees in a blockbuster trade that included generational star, Juan Soto. However, due to overflowing outfield depth, Grisham couldn’t get many games under his belt this year until this week. As Juan Soto faced a health scare with his forearm, the Yanks rested him from the LA Dodgers series as a precautionary measure. And it proved to be a blessing in disguise for Grisham as he got three back-to-back starting opportunities. Trent Grisham is a proven outfielder. But no one is close to Juan Soto’s stature. Hence, when Grisham stepped out for his at-bat on Sunday, the fans greeted him with ‘We Want Soto’ chants.

Trent Grisham heard it and replied with a three-run bomb, which turned out to be a dramatic climax. The New York Yankees were trailing 3-2 when Grisham went deep in the right field to extend Yanks lead. Aaron Judge, the Yankees captain, backed Grisham, saying he wasn’t pleased with the heckling. While Soto has been carrying the team all this year, Grisham is equally an elite ball player and deserves some respect. “I wasn’t too happy with it, but I think he made a good point with that homer,” Judge said after the game. Meanwhile, Trent revealed that he heard the ‘Soto’ chants and was satisfied to see those get converted into ‘We Want Grisham’ chants after the three-run home run. Needless to say, the center fielder got the taste of the Yankee crowd for the first time, and he handled it maturely to make his mark in the Bronx.

The New York Yankees are paralysed without Juan Soto as their offense was exposed against the mighty LA Dodgers lineup. Soto is dealing with inflammation in his forearm and elbow. He skipped the entire home series this weekend in Bronx with no return timeline preset as he continues to be treated day-to-day.

However, Juan Soto has confirmed that he is feeling completely normal and the rest is a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, Yankees manager Aaron Boone stated that he expects Soto be back during the upcoming series against Kansas City Royals. He will go through a normal pre-game routine on Monday before the team takes a final call.
