New York Yankees generational superstar Juan Soto survived a scare after he was treated for forearm discomfort last week. Soto dodged the IL bullet and was treated day-to-day on medications. Eventually, the 25-year-old was declared fit for the recently concluded away series against the Kansas City Royals.

Juan Soto picked up from where he left off as he slammed a home run in the series opener on Monday. Soto continued his glorious form throughout the series before dubious officiating cost the Yanks a series sweep chance. Meanwhile, Soto, who was on the other end of the foul call, had a heated confrontation on the plate.

Juan Soto Miffed With Blatant Missed Inferences Call Vs Royals!

The New York Yankees were robbed of a scoring opportunity in the fourth inning of the series finale against the Kansas City Royals. With no runners of base, Juan Soto missed a swing off Alec Marsh and argued that the catcher, Freddy Fermin, had interfered with his swing. Soto was adamant that Freddy’s mitts impeded his swing as he broke out into an interference call appeal. However, the crew chief, along with the rest of the umpires, ruled the call in the Royals’ favor and rejected Soto’s plea. Interestingly, the Yanks had no challenge left as they had already exhausted one previously in the game. Hence, Soto had to stand down and face the ground out on full count moments later.

That being said, as the New York Yankees went down 4-3 to miss the series sweep, Juan Soto reflected on the incident and insisted that he felt the glove and not the ball during his swing. However, he had to swallow the hard pill as the team had no challenge left. “Stuff happens, I mean, and then I realized the ball went towards the dugout, so it’s kind of close to see it,” Soto said in a post-game interview. Meanwhile, despite the missed interference call, the generational superstar emerged as the best hitter of the day for the Bronx Bombers. He produced 2 hits and 1 RBI in the Yanks’ 4-3 narrow loss. Overall, it was just a bad day at the office for the Yanks as they narrowly missed the series sweep opportunity. Nevertheless, the team will now fly to Boston to face arch-rivals Red Sox at Fenway Park for a three-game series.

Soto Opens Up On Missed Series Sweep Opportunity

The New York Yankees’ offense simply didn’t crack on Thursday as they missed a series sweep opportunity against the Kansas City Royals. Juan Soto, meanwhile, scored an RBI on two hits. But it proved to be not good enough as his teammates couldn’t come through.

Reacting to the team’s performance, Juan Soto said he tried his best to motivate and push his teammates to go for the kill. But it was just one of those days where things didn’t work out. “Definitely, I wanted to be up. Great job trying to bring that run in and try to put me in the inning too,” Soto said in a post-game interview.
