Red Bull Lacks Solution For Zandvoort Despite Brainstorm

In his column for Speedweek.com, Helmut Marko discussed the challenges Red Bull faces during the Formula 1 summer break. He noted that teams are required to shut down operations for two weeks, which means no work can be done on the car during this period. Despite this, the Austrian executive expressed concerns that this brief pause might not be sufficient for Red Bull to devise a comprehensive solution to their current issues.

Moreover, Marko explained that the team needs to resolve ongoing problems and identify the causes of its recent struggles, especially as the car’s performance has significantly diverged from its strong start to the season. He acknowledged the difficulty in predicting how quickly a solution might emerge and indicated that the team might not have a breakthrough by the time of the next race at Zandvoort.

The Red Bull consultant mentioned that qualifying performance will be crucial at Zandvoort due to the track’s limited overtaking opportunities. He highlighted Max Verstappen’s recent strong qualifying performances, noting that the team has been competitive in recent races, including Austria and Spa, and only narrowly missed out in Hungary.

During the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, Max Verstappen shared his preferences for the type of Formula 1 car he enjoys driving. He expressed a liking for cars that are quick and sharp at the front but emphasized the importance of balance. According to teh Dutchman, it’s crucial that the car’s front end is not too aggressive at the expense of the rear end, as a well-balanced setup is essential for optimal performance. He acknowledged that what works for him might not necessarily work for other drivers, as each driver has their own unique driving style.

Moreover, the triple champion noted that while his driving style aligns well with cars that have a sharp front end, other drivers may prefer different setups that suit their own driving preferences.
