Aaron Judge is the heartbeat of the New York Yankees fans. Last year, he got injured, and it was terrible for the team. He is the captain of the side and arguably the best hitter in the team, with Juan Soto in the clubhouse since last offseason. But Soto was not part of the Bronx Bombers last season. In 2023, the NY side had the worst season in the last 30 years of their franchise history. It was because the offense really let the team down. Most importantly, the captain of the team was out with a toe injury that later turned out to be a torn ligament. As a result, Aaron Judge missed 35 games on the trot.

With no Soto and Judge’s absence for the majority of the season, the Yankees failed to make the postseason. Hence, the fans want the 2022 AL MVP to be in fine form. However, the 2024 Spring Training was a bit scary for the fans as well as the organization. Early in the spring training, Aaron Judge suffered an abs injury that caused him to miss several Grapefruit League games. Hence, his fitness was doubtful, and then he had a slow start to the 2024 regular season. These were not good signs, but the captain turned things around in the second month.

Aaron Judge continues to prove that he is unstoppable once he gets on a hot streak. In the current regular season, the Yankees captain took seven games to hit his first home run of the season. Clearly, in April, he was not looking at his finest form. But then came the month of May, and Judge got back to his groove. At present, he has already tied for the most home runs this season. It has been a really dramatic turnaround from the 2022 AL MVP. Lately, Aaron Judge hit a massive home run against the Los Angeles Angels to help the Yankees win the game and the series. On Thursday, he hit his 275th career home run.

For the Yankees in MLB history, Judge tied with Jorge Posada with his 433-foot homer on Thursday. He is currently in the eighth spot in the franchise history. Moreover, in the top of the fourth inning, Aaron Judge hit a two-run homer off the southpaw Patrick Sandoval. It was the 18th home run of Judge this season, and the bat speed was 110.0 mph. With that 433-foot homer, Judge helped the Yankees lead 2-1 in the game. Currently, Aaron Judge has hit the same number of home runs as Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles and Kyle Tucker of the Houston Astros. They are leading the MLB home run list at present.

Besides Aaron Judge, Juan Soto was in top form, too, on Thursday night. The Dominican superstar hit three RBIs along with one hit and a couple of walks. But the big difference in the Yankees’ 8-3 win against the Angels was the bases-clearing triple that Juan Soto got in the seventh inning. On the other hand, defensively speaking, Carlos Rodon did an excellent job from the other end.

Rodon threw more than six innings. He had five strikeouts but gave away three earned runs and one walk. After Thursday’s win, the Yankees have solidified their position at the top of the AL East, leading the Orioles by two games. Currently, they are 39-19.
