Top 5 Shooters The Los Angeles Lakers Can Acquire Ahead Of The Trade Deadline

Lakers Trade Prospect

Los Angeles Lakers are in a deep mess this season. The purple and gold are ranked 13th on the Western Conference points table. We can all agree that the major reason for the Lakers debacle is a weak offense. LeBron James has been stranded alone with no support. Anthony Davis, just like last year, ended up on the bench with injuries. Moreover, King James’ most trusted peer, Westbrook, is underperforming.

Hence, the road to recovery is getting tougher with each passing day. Meanwhile, fans and critics believe that the only thing that can save the Lakers from here on is a solid trade. The trade deadline will end in February, and the team has limited time left. So far, they have acquired Rui Hachimaru in exchange for Kendrick Nunn. Here are five other options the Lakers could consider in the trade window.

1. Duncan Robinson

Duncan Robinson

Duncan Robinson is a shooting guard playing for Miami Heat. The 28-year-old has a massive three-point shooting average of over 40% since the last two seasons. However, Duncan will carry the injury baggage with him, but as long as he is healthy, he has the potential to be a match-winner alongside LeBron James. For the Lakers, Duncan is a solid attacker and will be a perfect acquisition. He can play second fiddle to LeBron and lead the team in serious situations.

2. Eric Gordon

Eric Gordan is a shooting guard playing for Houston Rockets since 2016. The veteran is 34 years old but carries a lot of experience. However, he still can shoot like any young kid on the block or even better. This season, Eric has a 35.2% average from the three-point zone. Moreover, Eric can play from the depth of the court. Hence, the Lakers will have the luxury of playing at the back of the court. Also, Houston’s situation is worst than the Lakers this season. Hence, the Rockets would not mind a trade.

3. Tim Hardaway Jr.

Tim Hardaway Jr

Tim Hardaway Jr. is a perfect option to play second fiddle to LeBron James. His three-point average this season is 36.1%. Tim might not be the best option, but he is better than anyone currently with the Lakers. However, Dallas Mavericks could be a roadblock as they might be willing to give away Tim to the Lakers. The Lakers will have to give up Westbrook, as Dallas are not likely to settle for less.

4. Gary Trent Jr.

Gary Trent Jr

Gary Trent Jr. is currently playing for Toronto Raptors. The shooting guard is averaging 18.2 points this season. Moreover, Gary’s three-point average stands at 36%. He could be an excellent addition to the James-Davis duo and play as a supporter. Moreover, his shooting success from the deep might encourage the Lakers.

5. Bojan Bogdanovic

Bojan Bogdanovic is an all-round player. He can defend and score from the deep at the same time. Bojan is averaging 21.2 points this season with a massive 41.5% three-point average. He is the perfect fit in the Lakers lineup. However, Detroit Pistons will not settle and will likely ask for a combo in exchange for Bojan. But if the Lakers can close this deal, Bojan certainly has the potential to turn the season around for the Lakers.
