The 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix was a proper, entertaining, and eventful race as defending World Champion Max Verstappen lost to both the McLarens and Lewis Hamilton to finish fifth on Sunday. Moreover, Red Bull Racing finished with minimal points as Sergio Perez could score 6 points at P7.

That being said, Max Verstappen’s heated radio transmission throughout the race stirred a huge controversy. The Dutchman and his engineer Gianpiero Lambiase clashed over differences in pit stop strategy and overall imbalance of RB20. Moreover, when Max was criticised for his behaviour post race, he lost his cool and hurled abuses at critics.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase were at loggerheads during the recently concluded Hungarian Grand Prix. After Max overtook Lando Norris by going wide on turn 1, GP asked him to given the position back before the stewards pronounced their verdict. However, Max initially didn’t agree before he was convinced by the main strategy team. Later in the race, Max Verstappen touched with Lewis Hamilton and argued that the latter moved under braking. However, GP once again reprimanded the Dutchman for being childish and instructed him to focus on his race. Not only that, Verstappen cussed GP and the team for putting him on a faulty strategy that eventually cost him the race and a podium finish as well.

That being said, the heated radio discussions caused a stir online as critics slammed Max Verstappen for being disrespectful when he was not in a winning position. However, Verstappen lost his cool in the post-game interview and hurled abuses at those people calling him names. He said he was annoyed with Red Bull’s strategy and that GP kept fighting with him since he didn’t know that the pit stop call would impact his race significantly. “I was just annoyed of course with today and maybe the team at the time didn’t realise what they did wrong,” Verstappen said. Nonetheless, the defending World Champion asserted that such intense discussion isn’t uncommon between him and GP as the duo is competitive, and tensions tend to flare in the heat of the moment during a tough race. Meanwhile, Gianpiero Lambiase didn’t react to the controversy. But Red Bull is confident that the driver-engineer duo will resolve their differences.

Meanwhile, the fight for P3 at the Hungarian Grand Prix got intense as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton touched while going wheel-to-wheel at a corner. Verstappen’s car went airborne but luckily escaped serious damage. However, Max wasn’t happy as he accused Hamilton of moving under braking.

Max Verstappen argued that people who blamed him for the same illegal move in Austria are quiet now. He added that had he not locked up, his RB20 would have crashed into Hamilton. “I see the car on the outside just keeps coming at me,” the Red Bull driver said. However, the stewards judged the incident differently as they quashed the investigation by calling it a racing incident.
