The Golden State Warriors drafted Stephen Curry 15 years ago. Clearly, the Dubs got much more than what they bargained for back in 2009. They wanted to draft a talented point guard, but they did not know the skinny kid from Akron, Ohio, would transform them into a powerhouse. Previously, the GSW did not look like a championship contender. The last time they won an NBA championship before Steph joined them was back in 1975. It was just a too-long wait for the team from the Bay Area to win a championship again. Previously, the Dubs had been a three-time NBA champion.

But the 4th NBA title for them was taking too long to arrive. Then, Curry came to the Bay Area, and a few years later, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green joined the franchise. Gradually, the team looked like a real contender for the championship. Finally, in 2015, Stephen Curry led the Dubs to end their 40-year-long wait for the NBA Championship. But then, who knew they would win three more titles in the next eight years? After all, they have been through, Curry would like to play for the Dubs until he decides to hang up his boots.

After Klay Thompson left the Golden State this offseason, fans in the Bay Area were afraid that his ‘Splash Brother’ would follow him soon. However, to give some much-needed relief to the fans in San Francisco, the greatest shooter in the game signed a historic one-year extension deal worth $62.6 million. As a result, the three-point King made sure that he is not leaving the Warriors until the end of the 2026-2027 season. Recently, in an interview with the ‘TODAY’ show, the greatest shooter mentioned that he hopes to retire with the Dubs, who drafted him in 2009.

Moreover, Stephen Curry said he is getting ready to play in his 16th NBA season. On top of that, he added that it was his dream to play for one team throughout his NBA career. Curry expressed his excitement over staying teammates with Draymond Green and aiming to accomplish more amazing things. Moreover, Steph pointed at his ‘Splash Bro’ not being there with the team as he will be available for the Dallas Mavericks for the next three years. For next year, the Dubs don’t have a suitable replacement for Curry’s Splash Brother.

The skinny kid from Akron, Ohio, changed the Warriors from a struggling team in the West to a seven-time champion team. On Tuesday, Curry mentioned during the TODAY show that he still wants to keep winning for sure. Moreover, he believes there is still time to build a championship-winning team this offseason at the Bay Area. Steph Curry noted, “Hopefully, we still have some days to keep doing that. Hence, I want to be there for sure.”

Lately, Athlon Sports reported that the greatest shooter in the game have warned the Dubs to find an All-Star level player who can play alongside him. That way, Curry can get enough help to lead the team to contend for the title. If they turn into a bottom feeder, the three-point King can definitely leave, too.
