LeBron James, 38, recently celebrated his 20th season in NBA in style. He broke an all-time record of being the leading point scorer in the NBA. To celebrate that achievement, ESPY awards felicitated James with the record-breaking performance this season award. While accepting that award, the veteran forward broke the internet with a positive update on his future.

LeBron James was shell-shocked after being swept 4-0 by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals of the 2022-23 NBA season. He chose to play through his right foot tendon injury to ensure the Laker’s postseason run isn’t getting affected. Naturally, the loss took a deep toll on his mind. Immediately after the loss, James threatened to retire from the sport. But recently, he retracted that statement which irked self-proclaimed NBA analyst Skip Bayless.

LeBron James shook the NBA fraternity when he admitted to contemplating retirement following a humiliating Conference finals loss to the Nuggets. He said that he needs to figure out what he wants his future to look like. Fans were naturally concerned as they didn’t want James’ 20 years glorious career to end just like that. However, weeks later, the 38-year-old retracted his statement. During his award acceptance speech at the ESPY Awards, LeBron confirmed of returning for his 21st season in NBA. He added that he has a lot left to give the sport he loves the most. While many fans remained relieved with the announcement, self-proclaimed NBA analyst and certified LeBron James hater Skip Bayless had a bizarre reaction.

In a tweet, Skip Bayless called out LeBron James’ retirement hoax. He claimed that everything was pre-orchestrated to distract the fans from pointing out James’ failures. Skip believes James never intended to retire. He put up a smokescreen to deviate the media attention from reality. The reality was that LeBron had let his team down by underperforming and choking during crucial moments. Bayless’ imaginary conspiracy theories against James are not a rare occurrence. He has practically constructed a whole broadcasting career off spreading hate toward the NBA veteran. Regardless, LeBron’s recent announcement is being viewed as a welcoming sight from the fans. They want to see Bron get another ring to his name before calling it quits and closing curtains to one of the most illustrious sporting careers.
