Even someone who didn’t follow the New York Yankees 2023 season campaign would know that the team tanked due to offensive lackluster. Aaron Judge’s absence, coupled with the veterans’ grave slump, resulted in an abysmal season. Thus, to recover from a lost season, the front office focused on strengthening the hitting lineup this off-season.

A generational talent, Juan Soto’s addition was considered a monumental move. Besides, the Yankees also traded Alex Verdugo from the Boston Red Sox. While the outfield lineup is sealed, the Bronx Bombers continue to unravel options to bolster the depth that hurt them the most in 2023. Amid talks of increasing the depth, Francys Romero of MLB.com linked the club to an all-star slugger.

In a bid to amplify their offensive firepower, the New York Yankees are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of All-Star slugger Jorge Soler following his career-defining performance. In 2023, Soler recorded its career-best season. He slashed .250/.341/.512 with 36 home runs, 75 RBIs, and .853 OPS whilst earning his maiden All-Star call-up. In 2019, Soler led the American League in home runs by slamming 48 long hits. Having said that, Soler’s ability to play both the outfield and designated hitter positions adds valuable flexibility to the Yanks’ roster. Though Stanton remains the team’s first choice for the DH role, having a backup of Soler’s caliber won’t hurt anyone.

Meanwhile, Francys Romero of MLB.com claimed that the Yankees have approached Jorge Soler for a potential contract. “The Seattle Mariners are the most active team for Jorge Sole. Yanks and (Miami Marlins) have also approached and have shown interest.” wrote Romero. Negotiations between the Yankees and Soler’s camp are reportedly progressing, with both parties recognizing the potential synergy in this collaboration. Soler’s presence in the heart of the Yankees’ lineup would not only provide additional protection for their star hitters but also contribute significantly to run production. His ability to deliver swiftly in clutch moments and hit for both power and average will benefit the Bombers in the long run. If the negotiations prove successful, Soler’s arrival in the Bronx could signal a new chapter in his career.

Yanks Labelled Favorites To Land Yoshinobu Yamamoto!

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Brian Cashman

It’s been over a month since Japanese ace pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was posted on MLB. And the ace still hasn’t signed a contract. This is largely due to the vast number of teams that have reportedly approached Yamamoto with a lucrative deal. However, the pitcher only seems interested in signing with a high-end championship-caliber roster. Having said that, Yoshinobu arrived in the USA last week and met with the Yankees and Dodgers in the respective order.

However, the pitcher wanted a second round of talks with the New York rivals and thus arrived at the big city to meet with the Yankees and Mets. However, the pitcher has yet to take the call. Nonetheless, if rumors are to be believed, the city rivals, the Yanks and Mets, stand a strong chance to land Yamamoto. Earlier, the ace said he was intrigued by the New York sporting market. And fruther expressed interest in being a part of it.
