In the current season, Aaron Judge is looking good enough to lead the New York Yankees to the “Big Dance.” It has been many years since the NY side made it to the World Series. The most successful MLB team of the 20th century has not been a World Champion even once since 2009. However, in 2024, things look different for the Bronx Bombers as how it ended last year. In the previous season, the 27-time World Series champions failed to make the postseason. They finished with an awful 82-80 record. Moreover, it was the worst performance of the NY side in the last 30 years of the franchise history.

Since then, the organization has been looking for redemption. They made some significant changes, such as adding Juan Soto to their roster. It has indeed made a considerable impact. Moreover, Soto’s partnership with the Yankees captain has transformed the team’s offense into one of the best in the league. Last year, the Bronx Bomber’s offense looked weak. Nonetheless, in 2024, Aaron Judge has turned things around as he seems on pace to replicate his epic 2022 MVP season.

Aaron Judge Making More Home Run Record

In 2022, Aaron Judge broke the American League single-season HR record, hitting 62 homers. Previously, Roger Maris had the AL homer record since 1961, hitting 61 home runs that year. Now, that record belongs to the Yankees captain. Moreover, the 2022 AL MVP is on pace to break his own record in 2024. On Sunday, the California native hit his 42nd home run of the current season. He is leading the league with the most homers in 2024. Sunday’s home run against the defending World Series winners, Texas Rangers, got Judge closer to the 300 mark. He could become the fastest player to reach 300 MLB Home Runs. Now, he is on 299 after Sunday’s homer. The Yankees won 8-7 on Sunday. It was the 952nd career game of Aaron Judge.

Previously, Ralph Kiner had the record to be the fastest to reach the 300 HR milestone. Kiner did it in his 1,087th game. As per Elias, the Yankees captain has almost a full season kind of games remaining to break Ralph’s record. Anyway, Dan Martin of the New York Post reported that Aaron Judge was not “Especially interested” in looking ahead to the record. The Yankees captain mentioned that if the record comes with a win, “It will mean something.” He added that records are not what he plays for. Moreover, he always aims to put his team in a good position.

Yankees Teammates Were More Descriptive About The Captain

Giancarlo Stanton said that it is incredible that Judge is on the cusp of breaking another record. The Yankees DH added that the 2022 AL MVP does something special all the time. Moreover, Stanton noted that as he has been able to see Judge’s evolution up close, “It’s been fun to watch.” Also, the DH believes Aaron Judge has more in his store. On the 300 Home Run List, Giancarlo Stanton is at number five. He had reached the milestone in 1,119 games.

Moreover, the partner of Judge in baseball crime, Juan Soto mentioned that the California native’s hitting power is “Impressive” and “Incredible.” For the 3rd time in his career, the Dominican slugger reached the 30 home run plateau. However, as it seems, Aaron Judge was still able to overshadow Soto, despite the latter hitting two home runs on Sunday.
