After a thrilling 2023 season, Red Bull entered 2024 with soaring expectations. The Austrian team and its fans were optimistic about a successful season. The team boasted a star-studded lineup, with Max Verstappen at the forefront. The RBR setup appeared invincible, blending experience, skill, and talent.

However, the fairytale drastically turns after a power struggle breaks out at Milton Keynes. While Max Verstappen is still reigning on track, management is trying to tear itself apart. The complaint filed by a woman member against team principal Christian Horner pulled back the curtain on an inner turmoil. As a result, the RBR management came under scrutiny, and key personnel decided to leave the setup. After almost two decades, Adrian Newey was the biggest name to leave the team. Since the official announcement of Newey’s exit, the team has lost two of the three GPs. However, the technical chief feels they will rise from the ashes.

Aerodynamic supremo Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull after April 2025. His departure would mark the end of an era that propelled RBR to the troposphere of motorsport. The veteran designer was involved in Red Bull’s world title-winning streaks. Thus, the F1 fraternity believed his absence might affect teh Austrian outfit’s on-track performance. However, Pierre Wache, deemed Newey’s successor, has expressed his thoughts on the matter.

During an interaction with the media, Wacche discussed whether the team would miss Newey. According to him, the question about Newey’s void is ‘difficult to answer’ as the team works in a direction. However, he feels the future might tell the truth as the competition is getting intense. Further, the French engineer proclaimed that his crew was working hard, as he believed building a car was a team effort and not just about one individual. Conjointly, he said the technical team has a point to prove as missing out on someone as talented as Newey is a shame, emphasizing the Briton’s impact.

After Adrian Newe’s exit, Red Bull was threatened with a mass exodus. However, the team remained intact as Pierre Wacche extended his contract. Wacche is one of the most essential assets for the Milton Keynes-based outfit. As the upcoming regulation revamp could pose a considerable challenge for the team, Wacche’s experience will be helpful. Along the same lines, Red Bull was able to renew the contracts of aerodynamics head Enrico Balbo and Performance Engineering Head Ben Waterhouse. Thus, the team must pave its way forward to retain the top spot.
