Red Bull and Mercedes have dominated the F1 Motorsport over the last decade. It was the Austrian team that started dominating the grid in 2010. For four years in a row, Sebastian Vettel helped the Milton Keynes team win the Driver’s as well as constructor’s titles. However, things took a dramatic turn when Lewis Hamilton joined the German team in 2013. In the following year, Toto Wolff’s team started an unprecedented hegemony in the F1 grid. No other team came close. For eight years on the trot, Wolff’s Mercedes team won the constructor championship. It was not until 2022, when the new cost cap era began, that the tide moved back in Red Bull’s favor.

Since the last two years, Christian Horner’s team has been unstoppable. They have won 38 races over the previous two seasons. On the other hand, Mercedes managed to win a solitary race in Brazil in 2022. But they could not win any race last year. On the other hand, Red Bull won all races, but the one in Singapore escaped them. But they seem confident enough to dominate the grid for a few more years. However, Christian Horner assumes Mercedes will close the gap between them and his team in 2024.

Lewis Hamilton can feel good after his rival team boss said his team can get back to the championship conversation. As per The Mirror, Christian Horner thinks over the next couple of years, fans can expect to see closer racing. Albeit, Red Bull is still the red-hot favorite. Moreover, the long-serving boss of the Red Bull F1 team thinks that they won’t be able to repeat the 2023 season in the following years. Hence, last year would remain as a unicorn year for the Austrian outfit. Moreover, Christian Horner told the media that Mercedes has great depth and great drivers.

Despite they had to go through a difficult period, they will get things together at some point, one would assume. Besides Mercedes, the Red Bull boss thinks McLaren and Ferrari are two very well-placed teams. They can be challengers as well this year. Horner said it is hard to pick one of those two about who’s going to be a bigger challenge. But people may have different opinions on the biggest challenge that the Austrian outfit can face in 2024. Last year, Aston Martin started pretty well too.

The seven-time champion is 39 years old. In the next two years, things can change a lot. What if Hamilton feels like enough is enough and then, retires? Only if the Silver Arrows can get back to the title contention, they can keep motivating the most decorated racer in the sport.

He has been winless since 2022. Prior to that year, Lewis Hamilton never had a winless season. There’s a reason why he was able to win over 100 GPs. But things have become so much more challenging for the F1 superstar in the last few years. Even then, Hamilton is still the face of the sport.
