The New York Yankees have been on a roll since the start of the 2024 regular season. Currently, they are 44-19. After what happened last year, this kind of start was not something the fans thought that the team could do. However, there were a lot of reasons to feel hopeful for in the last offseason. Although the 2023 season was the worst in the last 30 years for them, there were some promising additions to the roster. For instance, the NY side signed Juan Soto for a year. That was the biggest change the Yankees Faithful could ask for. However, there is no guarantee that the Dominican superstar will stay for a long time with the Bronx Bombers.

But the team has been noticing the impactful presence of the best hitter in baseball in their clubhouse. That’s what happens when a team has a “Generational talent” like Soto. Clearly, the partnership between Juan Soto and Aaron Judge has been paying the team the dividends they were hoping for. Moreover, in 63 games, the pitchers have done a great job even without their ace, Gerrit Cole. The team has been firing from all cylinders so far. However, there has been talk of a potential trade between the Yankees and their rivals, the Toronto Blue Jays.

Will The Yankees Consider A Potential Trade With The Blue Jays?

Currently, the Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies hold the same record of 44-19. It is the best record in baseball this season so far. Moreover, the Bronx Bombers have won eight of their last ten outings. On top of that, they are enjoying a seven-game winning streak. The NY side must be ready to do anything to solidify their chances to win the World Series this year. They will do anything to bolster their roster. Perhaps to do that they will be busy looking at options ahead of the trade deadline. According to Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report, there are a number of top players whom certain teams can deal this summer. One of them is Yusei Kikuchi, who can make some sense for the Yankees. On Miller’s list, Kikuchi is no. 22.

Miller mentioned that in the last two outings against the Detroit Tigers and the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kikuchi had rough starts. As a result, his ERA ballooned up by almost a full run. The Blue Jays have struggled this season, and they might move Kikuchi at the end of the season. If he becomes a free agent, he won’t have an expensive price tag. Anything can happen in the next two months. If the Yankees want to make a deep postseason run, then they might as well add someone like Yusei Kikuchi. That might help them down the stretch in their starting lineup.

Starters Have Been Great For The NY Side So Far

When Gerrit Cole got hurt in spring training, it scared every Yankees fan. After all, the ace pitcher had his career-best season last year, winning the American League Cy Young award. The Bronx Bombers were looking for redemption this year. But without their ace pitcher, things could have been really difficult. That’s why the Yankees were looking for other available ace pitchers.

However, since the start of the 2024 regular season, Luis Gil, the replacement for Cole, has been a revelation. He has been literally spearheading the starting lineup. Moreover, Carlos Rodon, Nestor Cortes, and Marcus Stroman have been great, too. That’s the reason why the Yankees have been looking so balanced this season.
