LeBron James, 38, committed to his 21st NBA season after enough contemplation on retirement following the Lakers humiliating conference finals loss vs. Nuggets. However, the veteran thinks he has enough juice left to last at least one more year. And thus, entered the 2023-24 NBA season as the core of Los Angeles.

While the Lakers initially planned to manage LeBron James’ workload, the recurring injuries haven’t allowed the team management to stick to the plan. Instead, James is playing more minutes per game than ever before. Having said that, despite setbacks, LA is hopeful of adhering to the plan soon once the roster settles.

As LeBron James struggled to stay healthy last season, which in turn hampered the Los Angeles Lakers playoff campaign, the team management devised an ambitious workload management plan. Apparently, Rob Pelinka added more depth to the roster with a view to restrict James’ minute on the court per game. However, the alleged foolproof plan went for a toss once the in-season tournament commenced. As the depth and bench kept falling prey to injuries, LA was left with no choice but to field LeBron over the set limit. Meanwhile, the veteran has started to show signs of decline, as he missed one game due to a calf injury. Having said that, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin claims the purple and gold are not yet ready to deviate from the plan.

In a tweet, McMenamin wrote that the Lakers will activate LeBron James’ minute restriction plan again once the rest of the lineup gets healthy. “James has already missed one game in the early going because of a left calf injury, and the long-term goal is to get him to the finish line with the wheels still intact,” wrote Dave McMenamin. On the other hand, James, who reluctantly agreed to the alleged workload management game plan, is ready to go to any lengths to keep LA’s campaign afloat. Don’t let his age fool you. The veteran forward is as committed as even to give his 100% on the court. Of course, the minute restriction plan is for his own good. But the satisfaction of leading the team to the finish line is unparalleled. Hopefully, both parties will find a way to work things out.

LeBron Scripts Monumental NBA History In Recent Win Vs. Jazz!

On Tuesday, the Lakers outclassed the Utah Jazz to register a comprehensive 131-99 win to fall back to winning ways. LeBron James contributed with 17 points in 24 minutes whilst scripting unimaginable NBA history. The veteran surpassed his own self in all-time high points scored. He is now the only player to unlock 39,000 career points.

LeBron James surpassed Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s all-time high record last season. Now, his aim would be to reach the pinnacle, which is to touch 40,000 career points. That would certainly be a remarkable achievement if James got there. However, to accomplish the dream, LeBron must play an additional season after the current one concludes.
