Juan Soto will be the biggest free agent next offseason. Last year, the most significant change that the New York Yankees made was the addition of the Dominican superstar. They needed a superstar slugger to bolster their offense after a terrible 2023 season. Moreover, the wound of the 82-80 record since last year is still fresh. They have been looking for redemption this year and the addition of the 2020 NL Batting Champion was just a big step forward to that.

Since the start of the 2024 regular season, the combination of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge has been breaking all sorts of franchise records in several offensive categories. Many fans and experts believe that this year, the NY side has a legitimate chance to make it to the World Series. But the other thing the fans in the Bronx worry about is whether Soto will be part of the franchise for the rest of his career. Lately, an MLB Broadcaster predicted that the Dominican slugger will sign a contract worth above $500 million next free agency.

Juan Soto Might Earn A $520 Million Deal Next Offseason

Recently, Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer predicted that Juan Soto will stay in the Big Apple after signing a 15-year deal worth $520 million next offseason. Moreover, the MLB Analyst says that there can be a big storm around if the Dominican slugger heads to Queens even after the Yankees try their best to keep him. But a 15-year duration is a long time. However, if that’s what Scott Boras and his client want, then the Bronx Bombers, the Mets or whichever team finally lands him will have to say yes to that. A 15-year deal will end when Soto turns 40. But 15 years can give the Yankees a lot of time to pay this huge sum over many years. It might also benefit the 27-time World Series winners.

The fanbase in the Bronx is desperate to see the four-time Silver Slugger winner in the Pinstripes for the rest of his career. However, Hal Steinbrenner did not help his cause as he whined about his organization’s payroll being “Unsustainable.” Nonetheless, the Yankees should already start to earmark a certain sum of money for Juan Soto. Who knows if the Bronx Bombers can manage to land Soto and not live with a skyrocketed payroll subsequently? If the Yankees fail to satisfy Boras and Soto, there will be several other suitors waiting in line to offer him what he wants.

Now, the trade deadline is behind the Yankees front office. Hence, they can concentrate on Juan Soto and how to re-sign him in the offseason. He has already proved that he is the second-best hitter in the team behind Aaron Judge. Throughout the year, he has been proving his worth to be a Yankee. At present, Soto has been slashing .309/.436/.593. He has been proving his worth since the NY side landed him with the one year blockbuster deal.

Many fans feel that the Dominican superstar has been doing even more than what they expected of him. He has been incredible in every which way. Since the $700 million deal of Shohei Ohtani an offseason ago, it is not impossible that Soto can sign an above $500 million contract.
