Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey have been the two main reasons why Red Bull is back at the top again. From 2010 to 2013, the hegemony of the Austrian team was undeniable. Back then, Sebastian Vettel was the most dominant racer in the sport. But in 2014, the sport saw a shift in hegemony. Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton, took over the dominance from the Milton Keynes outfit. It took Red Bull eight long years to win another constructor title. The Silver Arrows did not let any team win one constructor title between 2014 and 2021. However, Mercedes could not win the Driver’s World Championship with Lewis Hamilton in 2021. That’s when the sport saw another shift in power.

It was the time for the new generation of F1 racers to dominate the grid. But one racer stood out among the new young drivers. It was Max Verstappen who could challenge the seven-time champion. The Dutch racer won his maiden title in 2021. Since then, he has never looked back. Currently, he is on his way to win his fourth championship in a row. Drivers may change from Vettel to Verstappen, but the one thing that remained constant in Red Bull has been the car designer. Adrian Newey, along with team principal Christian Horner, helped build this team. However, there is a chance that both Verstappen and Newey might join Aston Martin soon.

Recently, formu1a.uno reported that the Saudi Arabian energy company, Aramco might buy Aston Martin F1 team from Lawrence Stroll. Last year, there were a few rumors that suggested the Saudi giants had an interest in acquiring the Aston Martin F1 team. But what even fueled the rumor was Lawrence Stroll selling a minority stake of the team to Arctos Partners, a US-based company. Stroll sold the minority share last November. Anyway, the Canadian owner indicated that he might be looking for an exit. Later, the Saudi Arabian energy company bolstered their relationship with Aston Martin last December. That’s when Aston Martin announced Aramco as their official title sponsor.

If the Saudi Arabian giants successfully acquire Aston Martin in the sport, they might want to bring the current triple-time champion and Red Bull’s aero wizard. That’s why formu1a.uno reported that Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey can be part of the Aston Martin team soon. Moreover, the speculation about both these key members leaving Red Bull started when a female employee accused Christian Horner of “Inappropriate behavior.” Albeit, the parent company later suspended the female employee and showed complete support to Horner, there have been mixed feelings within the team. Moreover, Max Verstappen said he’s loyal to Helmut Marko.

Previously, Jos Verstappen went public saying, the team will tear itself apart if Christian Horner stays in the same position. Later, the media reporters could see Jos speak with Toto Wolff. Then, Max’s father went to dinner with the Mercedes boss. Later, Max Verstappen gave a cryptic message, saying, “My father is not a liar.” Moreover, the current triple-time champion warned Red Bull that he would leave if Helmut Marko left. Previously, after the Saudi Arabian GP, Helmut Marko told the media that Red Bull might suspend him ahead of the next GP. Clearly, the internal situation of the Austrian team is not happy due to a power struggle.

They might still continue to dominate the grid performance-wise. Lately, Christian Horner told the media, including Sportskeeda, that they can’t force a person to stay part of the group just because of a piece of paper. As per current contracts, Max Verstappen may as well stay with Red Bull until 2028. But Horner says if someone no longer wants to be a part of the team, they have to let them go. Moreover, it applies to everybody, “Technicians, pilots and everyone else.”
