The New York Yankees have been playing better than they did initially this season. However, it might be the first time since 2016 when the Bronx Bombers failed to make the postseason. Last year was far better for the NY side. They won the AL East, and Aaron Judge created a history of slugging home runs in a season. But they eventually lost to the Houston Astros in the championship series. Later, the Astros went on to win the World Series.
But it was far better for the Bronx Bombers than the current situation. Many fans and experts argue that the 2023 season might be the worst in Yankees history. Not only the NY side is unable to hold on to a winning streak, but also plenty of severe injury issues. Injuries to key players are just not helping their cause. Recently, a Yankees pitcher, Anthony Misiewicz, had to rush to Hospital during a Friday game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Doctors Said Anthony Misiewicz Is Alert And In A Good Spot
A comebacker hit the 28-year-old pitcher on Friday’s game. The incident happened at the fag end of the sixth inning. Moreover, at that point, the Yankees were leading 3-2. After Misiewicz pitched to the second baseman of the Pirates, Ji-Hwan Bae, the ball hit straight back to the pitcher’s head. Later, the Yankees pitcher was not getting up, and it forced the medics to rush onto the pitch. Moreover, Anthony Misiewicz was bleeding from his ear on the left side. A few moments later, Anthony was able to get up, and the medics helped him to get on a cart.
This cart escorted him off the field. While he was getting off the field via the cart, the crowd at Pittsburgh’s PNC Park gave the Yankees pitcher an ovation. Later, the Yankees posted on social media that the pitcher was alert and oriented. Adding to that, the social media post said the Pittsburgh team doctors helped to transport the pitcher to Allegheny General Hospital. Moreover, Anthony Misiewicz will undergo further testing. However, in the Hospital, Anthony underwent a number of scans. But the results will be available later.
Yankees Manager Hopes For Anthony’s Speedy Recovery
Later, the Yankees manager Aaron Boone mentioned that doctors said he was in a pretty good spot. But in the case of the results, Boone is just hoping and praying for the best. The slugger, Ji-Hwan Bae, hit a liner up the middle at the speed of 100.6 mph. In the later part of the sixth innings, there were two runners on in the middle. The southpaw pitcher of the Yankees raised his glove to catch.
But the effort was not fruitful as the ball hit Anthony near the left ear and ricocheted to the right field. As long as the medic took time to enter the field, the 28-year-old Yankees pitcher kept lying down in pain. After several minutes, the doctors came in, and Anthony got up. While he was leaving on the cart, there was a towel pressed on his face on the left side. Later, Zach McAllister replaced Anthony Misiewicz in that game on Friday.
