An ugly verbal fight with a rival reporter over an interview with Aaron Judge led to her exit from ESPN. Meanwhile, Rivera spoke to the Post and issued an official statement. She accepted her mistake and took full responsibility for her actions and words.
However, she did accuse a certain fraction of people in MLB of ganging up against her. She said she had some disagreements with the MLB communication executive, John Blundell, in the past, which led to her termination from ESPN. On the other hand, The New York Post tried to reach ESPN for a word, but they shunned them by saying that Marly River no longer works for them. Post the incident, Rivera has deactivated all her social media accounts and is on complete radio silence.
